Warriors trading Curry for Amare?

The Suns could have landed their man in Thursday night's draft before their pick ever came up. Golden State's selection of Davidson point guard Stephen Curry at No. 7 was likely made for the Suns as part of an Amare Stoudemire trade that can't be completed until Wednesday. That is because Phoenix would be acquiring Warriors center Andris Biedrins, a base-year compensation player, as part of a Stoudemire deal that would include more Warriors players, possibly power forward Brandan Wright and/or shooting guard Marco Belinelli.

If it's true, I'm not sure I like this trade if i'm Phoenix. Curry, to me, seems a lot like Barbosa. Either Barbosa is dealt, too, or you're stuck two of the same players. Granted, Curry, at least for the time being, would be a cheaper version.

June 26, 2009  07:59 AM ET

Barbosa is pretty Unique.

June 26, 2009  08:22 AM ET

These players look younger and younger. My Junior high team looked older than Curry or Ricky Rubio

June 26, 2009  08:24 AM ET

Golden State should keep the Curry kid-he is the best shooter in the draft-hopefully they don't do something this stupid.

June 26, 2009  08:27 AM ET

Curry would fit great in the suns run and gun system. I know new york wanted him but who wants 2 go there???? lol KNICKS SUCK

Sorry, But Amare, is still in his prime. Players with Amares combination of height, athletic ability, and game, are more rare, than tweener guards, that can shoot, but who knows maybe Curry will turn out like a Reggie Miller type of player

Good look for Golden State...I'm confused about what Phoenix is doing

I agree with you about Amare-
but he's been in the league a while now & what is his 'legacy' ?
A SUPREMELY talented player/freak athlete......
problem is is he REALLY a 'franchise' type guy ?
he simply doesn't play Defense & is quite selfish-

Not sure if he's the type of guy you really want to build around

Will somebody please tell us what the hell the Suns are doing. They trade Shaq for a box of sox, and now they want to trade Amare? Anyone with half a brain could have tweaked this team a little, and been right back in the mix next year. Instead, they're fast becoming a southern version of the Sacramento Kings. Mark Jackson of all people made a very profound statement last night, when he said 'you're either in it to win it, or your looking to guard the bottom line.' At the end of the day, this team will lose a lot more than the money they are trying to save--because there won't be anybody in the seats to see this mess.

Man just reading all this talk about Amare getting traded how do you think Nash is feeling? I mean they trade possibly everyone on your team and you are the lone player left for a rebuilding franchise.

They are trying to go from Pro- some what respectable Basketball team.............to some sort of money saving frenzy organisation un related to playing basketball at a high level - and completely forgetting their duty to try and resemble something competitive on the court.

It's going to be a long dull year for Suns fans.

Totally agree- & as I've said before......
TOTALLY different to break it all up if your team stinks

lol...Nash is probably packing right now.
Ain't no way they're keeping Nash if they're unloading everyone

And if I were Portland- I'd be on the phone NOW asking who they want

I think he would be a BEAST in Portland. Man that would be ridiculoous when you have him or Roy running the point and leaving one of them open on the perimeter.

Also did you understand at all what the HELL the T-wolves were doing last night? Did they not realize that they picked a point guard?
