Barry Bonds has hit 34 home runs into McCovey Cove over 7 1/2 seasons, but he will hit none during the All-Star Game Home Run Derby on Monday night. Bonds said Thursday he will not participate because of the strain it would place on his body, "especially when you're 42. He said he is looking forward to a party he is hosting in San Francisco on Monday night and starting in the All-Star Game the next evening.

Why would he start trying to accomodate fans now? Assuming you are one of the complete idiots that actually believes this guy has accomplished anything honestly....

A billion people in China, another billion on the Indian subscontinent, a hundred million Japanese, five-hundred million in Europe, the Islamic world, Africa, Latin America, three-hundred million Americans, and Beacher Meat on Dominica do not know the name Barry Bonds, and do not care to.

Does Gary Sheffiled know that Barry is in the league? Cuz he doesn't let whitey control him either

These Russians are perceptive people. Does this doll have a visa?

July 6, 2007  12:36 PM ET

Nice way to repay the stupid fans who voted you in Barry. No surprise at all.

July 6, 2007  12:53 PM ET

Try being 42 and doing what barry is doing. he probably does need the rest.

July 6, 2007  01:36 PM ET

Barry go to Isle 8 at Kroger and get yourself some Maxi Pads!!!

July 6, 2007  02:40 PM ET

lol, it's all the hot flashes...

July 6, 2007  02:57 PM ET

yeah the steriods dont help to much obviously

July 6, 2007  03:00 PM ET

They're also renaming it from McCovey Cove to BALCO Bay in Barry's honor.

July 6, 2007  03:18 PM ET

Good I don't want his cheating **** getting something else he doesn't deserve. Go to hell bonds I hope you have to retire of an injury at 754!

July 6, 2007  03:20 PM ET

Hey Someone Who Can Actually Spell! You Don't know anything about baseball When I get to 42 I bet I could still Take steroids go to hell****

July 6, 2007  04:26 PM ET

The "Eagle man" is an articulate, erudite, and eloquent purveyor of the English language, and his curses shake the foundations of our faith.

How he ended up washing dishes at the Pizza Hut eludes even his most philosophic fellow scholars.

July 6, 2007  04:35 PM ET

His real reason: I'm Barry Bonds, I don't have to do anything I don't want to do. Why would I want to waste my time hitting Homers that don't count towards my record? That would just be wasteful. Who cares if my hometown fans (sidenote, that's the only fans you got Barry) want to see me smash some balls into the cove off of some washed up bullpen coach? I'm Barry Bonds and you aren't ...nah nah nah nah boo boo

Now get outta my face you stupid reporter, or I'll be forced to bring my young son up here again so that you won't ask any embarassing questions.

July 6, 2007  05:15 PM ET

He's basically giving the middle finger to all the SF fans that voted him in as a starter and the only fans that cheer for him.

What a guy!!!

July 6, 2007  05:49 PM ET

Bonds is actually well-liked amongst the big athlete, and Hollywood circles. Its like they admire how much of a jerk he is.

July 6, 2007  05:49 PM ET

If I had just one wish that would be granted it would be that Barry Bonds gets arrested and put in jail for tax evasion. How freaking great would that be. Every one knows he did steroids, every one knows his record will be bogus. If he were to get busted for not paying taxes? I would celebrate. Barry Bonds, what a joke. And screw the Giants and there stupid fans for cheering this cheating piece of you know what.

July 6, 2007  05:54 PM ET

Hey everyone get off Barrys back. Barry Bonds only has one problem.
HE BREATHES!

July 7, 2007  01:07 AM ET

The Giants front office orchestrates his getting elected into the All-star game. They "encourage" their employees to vote, vote, vote and then vote some more.

A writer mentioned that the fans voted for Barroids. The truth is, the supporters cared more about Barroids being there, than most fans cared to stuff the box for someone else so that Barroids didn't make it.

BALCO Barry thanks the fans the only way he knows how. By giving them nothing in return for their blind adoration.

As a Giants fan, I hope he finds a way to finish his career as a Dodger, that way he could finally be booed in SF.

The "try being 42" excuse above may be the most pathetic thing I have read ever on fannation being we're talking about Balco Barry. Come on now, don't insult our intelligence. Come up with a better excuse for this creep than that!
