Hendrick leading Danica chase?
The latest on the Danica Patrick/NASCAR saga is quite intriguing. If the Indy-car star does jump from the Indy Racing League to NASCAR, as increasingly appears likely, the battle for her, according to sources close to the negotiations, is down to car owners Rick Hendrick, of Chevrolet, and Jack Roush, of Ford. According to these sources, Hendrick and General Motors' Chevrolet division are now suddenly the heavy favorites to sign Patrick. And the key would apparently be Hendrick's willingness to put her in a Sprint Cup ride for the full 2010 season. Roush has said he would like to see her run some NASCAR Nationwide and/or Truck events, along with six or seven Cup events, to get her accustomed to stock car racing. Hendrick reportedly is willing to go further.

As long as Hendrick releases JR, I'm happy with them signing Danica.

nova, think it would end up the 88 for Brad, 8 for Jr, and 25 for Danica.... if it were to happen

This just in: Paris Hilton decided that she wanted to try NASCAR. With a huge sponsorship available with her family's hotel chain it is likely she will pick up a ride. She already has a huge fan base and her own 'brand' so the venture seems likely. This is something that Darrel Waltrip would support along with his partners at Fox. Brian France believes the deal would be "Hot".

She has only won a single race in those silly open wheel things, BUT if we could trade her for that fruitcake Jeff Gordon........do it!

This is getting to be as bad as the Brett Favre nonsense. I would like to see her decide soon, but I guess we'll be dealing with this until the IRL season is over.

Jr. isn't panning out so Hendrick is looking to fill his seat already before he drops him.

Before this season i would've said this was stupid, that open wheel drivers were different types of drivers and wouldn't be able to adjust to nascar, much less one that hasn't experienced much success in irl. but montoya is getting better and better in mediocre equipment, hornish is coming along nicely... tony stewart seems to be doing pretty well for himself... robby gordon is still a failure but thats life lol. so you never know, but im still skeptical just due to the fact that she's not even that good in irl.

Maybe Jr gettin out of Hendriks and runnin in a satelite team {Jr, motorsports} might be what Jr wants too. The pressure of his name, the legacy, competin with two past champions and Mark Martin and the never ending expectations, maybe he has had enough. Not enough to leave racin but enough to do things a bit differently. The satelite team of JR Motorsports could be with him and Brad. Who knows how this will all playout. If I was Jr I would have had enough of this pressure and would be shakin things up to save my sanity.

"Danica, I think she's got the talent and everything, but I don't think she knows what she's getting into," said Montoya, a former Indy car champ and Formula One winner who now drives for Chip Ganassi in the Sprint Cup Series.
This is Montoya's view on the Danica drama.

I will go on record as respecting all of your opinions, but my OPINION is she wont make the jump, its a ploy to up her contract in the IRL.
by the way, today's race was a lot better, with the great action on restarts, right up until the dang fuel mileage/weather radar strategy win by someone who wasn't even a top 20 threat most of the day
