The White Sox have a decision to make on Bobby Jenks -- try to sign him to a long-term contract or listen to offers. They could get a lot if they moved him, with teams such as the Angels, Yankees, Rangers, Cardinals, Phillies, Mets and Brewers looking to beef up their bullpens.

first yes but if they trade them they should get something good and just put mcdougal in the bullpen as a closer not a middle or late reliever

If you mean Mike McDougal he isn't on the team anymore. If they move him they better get grade A prospects. Personally I would keep him they are already going to go young in the field so that leaves a lot money to possibly be spent. Plus he is young enough to were you can realistically project that he'll still be highly effective when the Whitesox get could enough to challenge for a World Series.

Sweet. I love Chicago and I've been working on my slider. Where do I sign?

You can probably sign for the Class A team.

What can I get for a signing bonus and guaranteed money?

I really hope you didn't mean Mike McDougal; aside from what someone else mentioned in terms of him not being on the team anymore, he had this little problem of not being able to get hitters out or throw strikes. As a Sox fan, I'm torn. Jenks is overrated and would definitely draw some strong return value, but he is also a solid closer. If we could pick up some sort of second/third basemen or center fielder in return, or another bullpen pitcher, I'd say pull the trigger.

Hell Yes trade him, get some prospects and let Matt Thorton close games

June 28, 2009  03:04 PM ET

That would be a good move for the ChiSox....I wonder what you can get for him?

June 28, 2009  04:01 PM ET

I hope the White Sox compete this season so no I hope there is not trade, with that being said Mike McDougal i believe is the new closer for the Nationals as of a few weeks ago, I hear he's throwing a mean fastball....go figure.

"You got to know when to hold him, know when to trade him, know when to walk away, know when to run - don't leave your pitcher on the table cause before you know all the dealing is done" !!!

Do they have a reliable replacement for him? If they have a budding superstar, then yes, trade him. If not, don't.

June 28, 2009  10:26 PM ET

Send him to cleveland! You can probaly get Kerry wood and probaly some minor league players!

June 28, 2009  10:37 PM ET

I think if they don't trade him to Cleveland for Kerry wood and some minor leaguers they should probaly send jenks to the yankees because they need a good solid closer in case mariano rivera retires at the end of this year also if Rivera gets hurt they can defiantly rely on on jenks no dought about it. And new York can probaly rely on jenks to be a solid set up man for rivera also! So new York can defianitly count on jenks to be a solid guy for anything! PERIOD!

will kate trade jon?

June 29, 2009  01:44 AM ET

just curious - do any of you have an IQ above room temperature? not to you Antwain or 724, I agree with you guys I guess. Jenks may seem overrated, but that's if you think he's Mo Rivera. He's not. But the list of closers more successful than Jenks is pretty damn short, so let's be thankful we have him.

June 29, 2009  05:12 AM ET

The best closer in the adult film industry is Tony Purse when I need a fluffer for the final climactic scene I bring in my closer to get them ready and in a hurry. No one in the business exerts the professionalism and work ethic this guy has, no one. He has mastered the long fluid strokes that only a seasoned professional can master, to you Tony I applaud you! Go away bate'n...

call him again and tell him you can throw 60 MPH and get the ball over the plate. He will sign you before you blink!!

they are gonna keep him because they are gonna win division, once they start hitting consistant, and their pitching is starting to come around, Floyd has been great his last 8 starts, Danks last 3, Buehrle is Buehrle, and Contreas has been good since coming of DL, and they have a great bullpen
