Mets may lose Beltran for season

The Mets confirmed yesterday that Carlos Beltran was in Vail, Colo., for a second opinion on his ailing right knee, this one from noted orthopedic surgeon Richard Steadman. The ominous aspect of that for Beltran and the Mets is that Steadman is the inventor of microfracture knee surgery, an operation that -- if he opts to have it -- could sideline Beltran for the rest of the season, and potentially jeopardize his career.

The nightmare continues. When this era in Mets history is over, they will realize how they had a talented team who played below expectations each and every season.

Too bad.....

I'm starting to think that if there is a God.....he hates the Mets.

You can't play below expectations if you can't play....

You have to take the long-range view (at least I do, as a Mets fan) - they've been around for <50 years and have 2 WS wins, which is better than many other teams.

At worst, God is indifferent to the Mets and is actively smiting the Cubs.

Speaking of teams that God hates - its a Dolphins Fan!!!

What other team could have arguably the most prolific passer in NFL history, and still not win a Super Bowl... If there's an authority and doomed teams, its this guy.

Poor division right now but it does carry the World Series Champs, so there's something to hang your hat on... :)

That's what you get for buying players rather than building teams.

Too many superstars...

The worst part about this is now we won't be able to watch the Muts do what they do best.....choke in september....

when is si going to give us an edit/delete button?

The Mets have another 87 games, maybe this year, the team collapses now rather than towards the end of the season. If Minaya can pull a few miracles, like filling those lost positions to injuries with MLB talent, maybe, just maybe, the Mets can make a run. By the way, I am NOT holding my breathe!!

But like I mentioned before the season started, this Mets team is no better than a third place team and that is before the injuries occurred, now they may be a fouth place finish!

Dont know LOL

I watched the 69 Series. God can't possibly hate the Mets. Otherwise, how do you explain Swoboda's catch, Al Weiss's home run, or JC Martin not getting called for running inside the baseline.
