Giants scouting Dye, Martinez

With the non-waiver trade deadline one month away, teams are expected to increase their evaluations and discussions. And even after White Sox general manager Ken Williams said last week he intends to remain a buyer, it won't stop other teams, such as the San Francisco Giants, from scouting Sox players who can help them for their own playoff runs. The Giants, who lead the National League wild-card race, sent one of their top scouts to Cleveland on Monday to watch right fielder Jermaine Dye. The Giants also were believed to be looking at Cleveland's Victor Martinez, according to a source.

I'd take Martinez in a heartbeat but take a pass on Dye.

Martinez is not going anywhere..unless the Giants want to part with their entire rotation...

the giants dont have much to offer. besides lincecum and cain, who could anybody possibly want? maybe sandoval, but wh give up your only decent hitter? this has no chance of happening. i say martinez goes to the mets to play first base. maybe victor for fernando martinez and ryan church.

Sizemore, Lee, Pavano, Wood, Martinez are all on the trading block. DeRosa was just the begining!

Um...you have a little **** running out of your mouth sally

Trading Martinez almost makes sense. By trading him, you will get great value. Let's not forget the Giants are the same team that gave up Francisco Liriano and Joe Nathan for A.J. Pierzynski. Plus, the Indians have Carlos Santana in the minors to come up and replace Victor.

They could package Martinez, Sizemore, and a high end prospect or two for Matt Cain!

Here you go again complaining about Cleveland or should I say "The city that broke your heart" Or is it "The city where the guy lived who broke your heart"? Or maybe you should start your posts like this "I really hate Cleveland because when I lived there my mother tried to take me back to the doctor at age 5 and abort me and since she had such a convincing arguement they were going to do it but my long lost father showed up and said he was going to take me and move to a city where there is higher crime and more woman of the night! It was at that moment that I knew Cleveland was not the right city for me" I like the sound of that one better, Now I will put one of your LMAO in here and I am done with you! Oh and Philly sucks! Ironic how similar it is to Cleveland other than they have more crime and lower standards. You have a bad basketball team, a football team that can't win a superbowl, a baseball team that shows up once every 50 years or so and a hockey team that nobody watches even when there is nothing on but re-runs of Maude!

The lack of intelligence on this thread is mortifying.

are you dumb? That package should get you lincecum.

The Indians have a cheap owner, This is nothing new. The only protected players in their lineup are Victor, Seizmore and Lee. The others will go and they will load up on young prospects and hopefully have a contender in a few years. There is a glimmer of hope but until management starts spending money they will not make money. Like any product you sell, if you want a buyer you need to put out a good product (reference Cleveland in the 90's). The Tribe fans will show up when they have a good team to watch, Right now why spend the money to go to the game when you can save some cash and watch them from home? This is the mentality of the city (not mine) and until they can get back to where they were a few years ago the city will not pay inflated prices to support them.

Yes, he is dumb. I would like to apologize for Philly Homer. He should not be out of his cage, He is a danger to himself and society and I will make sure we use a lock next time. This has never happened before, Usually he can not figure out doors or knobs?
