I wish I could get paid like that, too, but Dockett needs to understand what team he's playing for. I'm not sure he's gonna get paid like that

The trend of the better athletes demanding higher dollars will be endless in all sports...

June 30, 2009  08:19 AM ET

This is no different in sports or corporate America. Who doesn't want to get paid more? People who make 50K want to make 75K. People who make 200K want to make 250K. People who make 10 Million want to make 15 Million. I know I do.

"I wish I can go back to high shool and lern some speling and grammur."

Wanting and getting. Not the same thing.

June 30, 2009  09:00 AM ET

And then if he gets the money, will he perform up to expectations? On a similar issue, it will be interesting to see how Haynesworth does this year in DC after getting that huge contract.

Twitter.com is now a news source? I don't think so.

Is that one one the signs of the apocalypse?

Lucky for him that Bobby Bowden never made his attend class. He wants to be paid like a top 5 DT when hes nad one good year? I would tell him to go to he!! if he thinks hes gonna get Haynesworth or Seymour money.

Dockett is overrated, he's not in the top 5, maybe top10 at best

June 30, 2009  10:29 AM ET

Just curious if you actually read the article. He hasn't demanded ANYTHING. He said he wished he made top 5 cash which I'm sure every player in the league would want to have.

This headline has basically NOTHING to do with the actual article.

snyder has a check with your name on it darnell. imagine when theres no cap. the skins roster will look like my madden franchise. at least hes not stingy like the family in arizona historically has been, though.

Maybe if he'd made a play on Pittsburgh's last drive in the Super Bowl, he'd get top 5 money. Let's face it, Big Ben isn't exactly a scrambler and Dockett couldn't bring him down.

Ouch! minor details. Asanti Samuel could not make a play and it cost the Pats a Superbowl, did not stop the Eagles from throwing money at him.

Yep, he makes a 3 line twitter (tweet, whatever) and just "wishes" for some more jack. Headline makes him sound like a camp holdout. Bet Rosenhouse double checked his roster to see if this guy was his and would ensure another payday.

Wish in one hand, **** in the other hand and see which one fills up.

June 30, 2009  01:26 PM ET

Come one ESPN.com, if you can't fill up the Truth and Rumors basket with actual credible stories, we'll understand. Just please don't waste my time with garbage just so somebody at your offices can say they did some work today.

June 30, 2009  01:26 PM ET

Trade him to KC. We'll pay him top 5 money. We need to build that defensive line. How about Tamba Hali and a third round pick next year? Sound good enough? The Chiefs defense would look like this:

Dorsey (last year's first rounder) Dockett Jackson (This year's first round pick)

Demorrio Williams Derrick Johnson Zack Thomas Mike Vrable

I "wish" T&R would post more interesting stories....

June 30, 2009  02:03 PM ET

He's not a Top Five defensive tackle.

Here is Rod Woodson's list:
1. Kevin Williams
2. Albert Haynesworth
3. Shaun Rogers
4. Darnell Dockett
5. Tommie Harris

Woodson's list is garbage. I would not put Dockett over Tommie Harris, Pat Williams, Kris Jenkins, Vince Wilfork, etc
