Carlos Boozer has decided to stay with Utah, he's still a candidate to get traded to Oklahoma City or Detroit, with Memphis seen as a long-shot.

the NBA season is long, many things can happen - they shud just return with the same team and hopefully avoid Lakers in the Playoffs.

Better get rid of him before he gets rid of them - that Boozer is a snake in the grass!!

I don't know about that. If he was then he would have easily opted out. By not opting out, teams have better chance of getting him because his salary right now is set. More likely the Jazz will trade him now to get more or something in return.

If the Miami wants Boozer, I could see a trade Mark Blount $7.9m exp. contract, Beasley $4.6m for Boozer $ 12.3m. That way Utah get Beasley for Boozer

Jazz do not have a history of trading players like Boozer. They move people around the nucleus and I think Boozer is considered to be part of that nucleus. I like Beasley in the Western conference though...

The only way he gets traded is if he is healthy and performing at a high level at trade-deadline to a contender.. or in a sign and trade for what he's actually worth...

well from what i red no1 wanted 2 give he a max contract because of the 2010 free agent market. and he could make more than the 12mil he was getting with utah so he stayed. only 3 teams really have big money 2 spend this year

July 1, 2009  08:47 AM ET

I would move him before he walks for nothing, but I would wait until the trading deadline at least. The Jazz have the time to wait for the best possible deal for their franchise.

July 1, 2009  08:54 AM ET

Idoubt the Heat would be willing to part with Beasley for Boozer considering Carlos could walk after one season. Thats quite a risk.

July 1, 2009  09:02 AM ET

The Jazz should move him. He is a selfish player. He said in December of 2008, while he was injured, he would opt of his present contract. Don't forget the Clevland handshake! This guy is talented but he's not worth the headache. "Williams to Boozer" will never be match up to "Stockton to Malone". Another thing...I think he is overrated!!!

July 1, 2009  09:19 AM ET

There's a high probability he'll get traded. Jazz can match any offer for Millsap and ship Boozer somewhere for a draft pick and expiring contract. They can also force any team that wants Boozer to eat up AK-47's contract as well. Dan Gilbert where you at? I thought y're on a spending spree... Lebron needs helps and there's some decent front court players with humongous contracts... even Orlando took up Carters crazy contract... let me see a Dan move!

July 1, 2009  09:23 AM ET

Whatever his motives are......
I'm glad he's staying in Utah.
- people can give Milsap all the accolades you want....
but he hasn't been a 20-10 guy in the league as booz has
and milsap doesn't have the LOW POST offensive game
that Booz gives you.....yeah he's been hurt- but he's played
when the playoffs come around

If I'm Miami, I get on the phone. Booz wants to be here and D Wayde would like to have him. Beasley is clearly not the PF of the future and Haslem would also interest a Jazz team that's in danger of losing 2/3 of its front-line next season. In other words, why wait till free agency if you can nab a player now?

I wouldn't give up on Beasley so fast- he was only a rookie
but not a bad thought.....
problem is they need a CENTER going forwards-
Booz doesn't really help them from that point unfortunately

July 1, 2009  10:10 AM ET

Why does anyone care outside Mormon state where this guy goes or does??? He is injury plagued, plays no defense and is good not great on the offensive side...HE IS NOT EVEN THE BEST PF ON HIS OWN TEAM!!!!!!

Seems everyone needs a center these days. If you get a quality PF like Booz, then you need only a guy to bang and clean the glass. On the high end, you have David Lee, average market is D. Howard's backup Gortat. Heck, even Kwame Brown on the low end could play alongside Booz and D Wade.

I am not saying they shouldn't do the deal-
I would
But they'd STILL need a center
Oneal cannot be counted on to either play a full year or
be their full -time center

July 1, 2009  10:33 AM ET

Being a Jazz fan I really do hope they dump him. I keep re-reading his quote from last December where he insists he'll opt-out of his current deal, and that he's getting a raise regardless. What a crock of s***. This guy has got to go, unfortunetly I don't believe anyone is really interested in him.

Fair enough. Do you think they'd need a star? Or do you think a combination of J. O'neal (at a substantially reduced salary) and one of the other names from my previous post would suffice? In other words...does O'neal have 20min/game in him or is it time to hang 'em up?

Damn you Boozer, why didnt you leave!! now you have gone and flucked up our salary cap and your going to make it hard to retain the real power foward on the team Milsap!!!
