Rockets target Bosh
Once the Toronto Raptors figure out that Chris Bosh will be departing via free agency a year from now, they may be inclined to trade him this summer. Their choice is to trade him to the Rockets now and get something in return, or wait until he signs with the Rockets a year from now and get nothing. If they decide to deal him, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey almost certainly would like to be at the front of the line.

I think Toronto would want atleast an All Star in return...Houston would not be the most ideal team to do a trade with.

The Raptors are never getting Durant plus anyone else by giving up Chris Bosh.
Durant is 20 years old and he makes like 4 mil next season - OKC would have to trade like a quarter of their team to get Bosh...i think Durant is more valuable too being only 20 and making great improvements.
Chris Bosh needs Steve Kerr as his Gm so he can get traded to a championship team - friendly guy is that Steve Kerr.

I agree that the Rockets don't have much that would interest the Raptors. They'll probably have to get a third team involved for him to end up with Houston.

You think OKC would move Durant to get a guy that will be a free agent the next year anyways? Trade one Set piece for another to get you back to more or less exactly where you started? Plus you wanna toss in Westbrook, so two pieces of a future potential playoff contender for one?

This article actually makes it sound like Housten may be able to dump McGrady's giant salary for an All-Star

Agreed with everthing you said .....I also think Durant is a superior player to Bosh, who imo is really good , but was exposed as a soft foul line jump shooter, by dwight howard in the playoffs 2 years ago...Durants a franchise player imo.

This would be a pretty good idea. If Toronto can get Landry, Brooks, Battier and Scola for Bosh then it will be worth the trade. Landry is a promising player that has moves down low but is not really given much of a chance in HOuston. Battier is a throw in to match salaries but he will bring defense and experience. This could be a win-win for both team.

panthro you beat me to it. sam must be the knicks general manager seeing he makes such good trades. two top 5 draft picks, one who was 6th in points last year and is gonna be an all-star for many, many, many more years to come cause i believe hes only 20 years old. westbrook is just an average quality player when he was one of the best rookies in the league last year and might be and all-star a couple of times in his career as well for a player who would just jet after the season because it would be worse than being with toronto so OKC would just have to start over all over again for bosh for one year great move sam1350. sam1350 shouldn't be allowed to comment anymore cause what he said was the stupidest thing ive ever heard come out of someone's mouth probably in my entire life.

Makes sense to trade Bosh before you receive nothing. What is it that you get in return is the question...Toronto doesnt want McGrady back-it doesnt look like a good fit. Trade him to Phoenix for Amare...

Houston doesn't have good enough players to get him, unless they give up like four or five players. Doing that though doesn't really make their team better especially if they can't get Bosh to sign an extension. The Rockets could end up trading four players for a one year rental of Bosh. That doesn't make any sense.

Apparently no one has noticed that you don't have to trade good players to get good players. Look at all the deals done so far. Shaq, Vince, Jeffereson, heck even crawford didn't even come close to receiving equal talent in return. I'm sure Houston could deal for him without having to give up equal talent or even close to that if it becomes apparent that Bosh Isn't coming back. It's not like toronto is going to make the playoffs next year anyway, so they don't have a reason to hold him and get nothing if they can get something now.

The Rockets only have T-Mac's contract as a trading chip and only a team that is desperate to clear cap space would really take on McGrady's contract. As much as I love the City of Toronto, the Raptors haven't been successful in getting marquee free agents to play there so trading Bosh in a salary dump doesn't make sense for them.
If the Raptors do decide to move Chris Bosh they have to make the best deal for them which would be to trade for players that are signed past the end of the upcoming season.

Now that's a solid offer...makes sense with all the draft picks Houston bought this year that they'll need bodies to fill their roster after unloading for CB4. Doubt they'd part with Brooks, but Lowry could be had...need Wafer added to the deal (maybe with KHump going back the other way) cuz the Raps need a 2 guard if they don't sign Ben Gordon/JR Smith...getting Battier opens the door for him to start at 2 guard and the Raps to sign Hedo.
Scola, Battier, Wafer, Lowry & Landry for Bosh, KHump & a big sayonara to that softie Bosh!!!
