Heat won't spend midlevel exception
With the Heat reluctant to spend its $5 million midlevel exception (unless a top player accepts it), cheap veteran free agent point guard options are limited to the likes of Jason Hart, Juan Dixon, Bobby Jackson and Flip Murray. Jannero Pargo and Carlos Arroyo, who played in Europe last year, can return to the NBA (Pargo's agent spoke to Miami) but might be too pricey.

There is no need to spend the exception. There isnt a lot of talent out there-crop is kind of light...

Riley is pressuring DWade to sign long term extension but he is not doing his part to make the team better by adding players that will help the team.

Jannero Pargo would be the only name on this list that I'm crazy about. The rest of those names aren't worth the MLE.

Yeah.. I thought Pat Riley will be crying in his closet until Wade resigns. Somebody please put the old man on a suicide watch... hahaha... you won't use your mid level exception to get another player to compliment Wade and y'd expect to resign just for the weather? C'mon Riley think!

I'm officially an Orlando Magic fan from this point out...I will drive to Orlando to watch games there...no more Heat games til Riley is dispatched of or makes a move.
Wade is under contract. He doesn't have to sign another. His job is just obligated to play well and fulfill his current contract which he is currently doing.
Riley's job as Pres/GM is to get talent, create opportunities and the winning formula to get a championship. He says he won't do anything...so technically he's not doing his job.
Cleveland, instead of trying to screwball Bron for a year for not signing is trying to entice him with talent and hopes of winning...Meanwhile, Pat Riley is trying to blackmail Wade to sign early...Arison's going to wait to long to get rid of Riley...probably after Wade has said enough is enough, he doesn't need Riley's antics, and leaves for greener pastures...

I hear ya- and Agree
As was said on a similar topicl a couple weeks ago...
their need is BIGS-
there is no reason to WAIT- when whether Wade resigns or not
they STILL will need that same position to be filled.
I'm not as much of a Riles hater as some here- he did bring you
a championship recentl- but his current strategy is dumb

The Heat as is...will be the 5th best team in the East....in other words long ways to go...and to do nothing is a mistake by Riley....maybe Wade will be the one leaving and not LBJ.....

yeah, but Beverley is not going to put Miami over the top...I would agree the MLE not needed, but if the right player came along and I'm not talking about the Ricky Davis' and Blounts, etc., use it or make a trade...Look at the History of the Heat for you all who say Riley's great. More than not, we have major holes in our lineups. Remember we were the only team to start Gatlin, had an over-the-hill Rod Strickland as our starting point, a finished Lephonso Ellis, an aged Kendall Gill (Lephonso and Gill were even in the same lineup...remind you of our D-league lineup a couple of years ago? It does for me.), Jim Jackson looked like a star on our team because we lost talent, etc., and so on...The Heat needs to concentrate on getting their roster right instead of saying why they won't sign players...Orlando was way ahead of us, but knew they needed a creator and got Carter...San Antonio, Atlanta, etc went out to get better, but the Heat has same reasoning...and we stay middle tier at best...

Heater bringing that heat today. True indeed, Riley needs to bring in talent to play with Wade now instead of pressuring Wade to do an extension. Dwayne is taking the right tactic here and waiting to see what Riley does first.

Amen!! I've been saying this 2 years. Riley Coyote--like his namesake--is an idiot. He probably won't lose Wade like he derserves, but anything the Heat manage to accomplish will be despite Riley, not because of him.

why hasnt anyone mentioned the likes of paul milsap or maybe even carlos boozer in a sign and trade for J.O's expiring contract?? what the really need is help down low and obviously another star player to become robin to wade's batman. the last thing they need is a "Mid-level" point guard, which their midlevel team is already abundant with. STEP your game up T&R'S!!!!! lol jk

Riley and Wade need to get on the same page here! Recently its been a War of Words stubborn Pat Riley vs. a future Hall of Famer who brought a championship to Miami! There is no denying Riley's accomplishments as a coach. He was an outstanding coach but as a far as being in charge of basketball operations he has made some very lousy moves such as the Ricky Davis Mark Blount trade! Riley needs to be held accountable for his decisions! Just because he's Pat Riley doesnt mean the media should continue to kiss his a*! Come on Riley make us a championship contender right now! Do it for Wade! Do if for the fans! Quite playing stupid mind games!

i agree with u Quincy Doub we have plenty of money to use for trade exceptions
Bosh Stoudamire Boozer would all be great options for this team! Millsap is very fundamentally sound and he plays the game with tremendous desire! Wade needs to try and put as much pressure on Coyote Ugly as possible i think that is the key in order for these moves to be made!

Rielly caused all this mess with RD trade and M Blount. He should show DW that he is willing to fix it and get Miami out of this mess. It is not Wade's fault he took you to the playoff with that current roster. IT is on rielty to show his commintment to winning and not Wade.
