Xavier Henry makes Kansas sweat

For much of the day Tuesday, it was unclear whether Kansas basketball recruits Xavier and C.J. Henry would end up in KU uniforms. But a late-night report said that Xavier would honor his commitment to the Jayhawks. "I'm goin to kansas and that's final," Xavier Henry wrote via text message to Cory Anderson of radio station KCSP (610 AM). When the Henry brothers gave their pledge to the Jayhawks in late April, it seemed their arrival on campus would be a sure thing. But since that news conference in Oklahoma City, Xavier, one of the most highly-recruited players in the class of 2009, had been having second thoughts.

Looks like it is going to be a Kansas-Kentucky battle for the top team next season (assuming Sherron Collins doesn't weigh 300lbs by then!).

I can't understand why he'd be having second thoughts. He'll play with two possible All Americans the only year he???ll be there. Kansas has some experienced players returning. Yes Kentucky will be good but they'll be young. Other than Michigan's Fab Five an Ohio St. with Oden most great freshman teams don't amount to much. Look at the year Kansas had Rush, Chalmers, Wright, and Robinson. They were good. But they also lost a lot of games they shouldn't have.

Kansas a top team? Yes.
Kentucky a top team? Give me a break.

This whole thing is crazy. The Henry family are coming off like fools right now.

The family's desire to have Xavier go in the the top 5 of next year's draft is affecting their decision making. Carl Henry thinks that by talking to the media, he might increase his son's hype. The truth is that airing dirty laundry for all to read is only going to hurt his son's reputation and paint him in a light that he is a money hungry kid, that could care less about college. Sometimes its just best to say nothing and do your talking on the court. I hate it when parents get involved and try to be the kids' 'agent'.

By the way, who's this cowboy cory anderson kid? I saw him the other day running as a hot dog at the K and he almost tripped and fell on his bun. Although, that's gotta be better than his partner Hamblin butchering the seventh inning stretch. Cory, I'm glad to see everything is working out for you and that you're getting on sites like SI now. I'll give you a call next week and we'll have to catch up sometime.
