Free agent linebacker Willie McGinest continues to eye the Pats as a possible landing spot, the 15-year veteran linebacker told Albert Breer of sportingnews.com. McGinest, who was part of three Super Bowl championships with the Patriots before leaving as a free agent for Cleveland in 2006, expressed his desire to play one more season.

Wouldn't be bad if the price is right. 2 years, incentive laden....

Pats D is already pretty old. On the other hand, if he really wants to sign a 1-year contract that won't blow the lid off the cap, it would help to have some experience while the younger guys grow into their positions.

I didn't know he was in Cleveland....

I think Bill would be happy to add a little veteran depth. Especially a vet that knows the system already. I don't see the Pats offering more than the veteran minimum plus a few incentives though.

I'd love to have Willie back for one more season.. absolutely.

Sounds like a classic Bill Belichick move. Bring back the vet to teach the younger players, he won't have to be an every down player, and the Pats have a need that McGinnest fills.

I'm not a Pat's fan, however, McGinnest is a classy, veteran guy that would be a good influence on younger guys. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go into coaching.

Not to mention finishing his career where it started. Willie is a solid professional and that kind of experience is valuable. Patriots cold use his pass rushing abilities for sure.

If you're looking for reason why you have zero friends. Read your post, idiot.

A Patriot thread just wouldn't be the same without Crafty tossing out one of his cheating comments... lol

It's the Bermuda Triangle of the NFL...people just disappear when they go to the Browns. McG is a good player, hard worker, and would be a good pickup for another season or 2, no doubt. Funny, somebody with "Raider" in their title talking about cheating. The RayDUHRZ are the dirtiest franchise in the NFL. It's just that they suck too, so nobody cares.

As long as they don't report the National Enquirer I'm good.

Rex dude,
Get a life. Guess there isn't much to do in N.H. other than chat about how the pats really don't suck.
Go Dolphins! : )

If they are old and past their prime, bring 'em to the Patsies, they love players with one leg left to stand on and only can play situational football.

Bellicheck and the Greybeards.

If he and Seau returned, Willie could be #55a and Junior #55b.

I have to say that the Craftyraider guy is a jerk.

Speaking of jerks, maybe Rex Ryan will pick him up in NY.
