Soria would be an excellent addition. Bell would also be great, but from whats been reported recently, the Padres arent looking to deal him. KC might not be looking to trade Soria either, but theMarlins need to make it happen. Get it done Florida!!

Last time we did a trade like this we gave up Adrian Gonzalez for Jorge Julio yo San Diego hope they dont make a mistake like that next time around but we do need relief pitching

actually we traded Adrian Gonzalez for Ugeth Urbina from the Texas Rangers. We got BK Kim for Julio and we got Julio for Yasmeiro Petit

The bullpen is really a big weakness the Marlins have. Holding leads has been a big downfall his season. The Marlins got Arther Rhodes last year from the Mariners and he helped out quite a bit. Hopefully we can pull the trigger and get some relief help without selling the farm to do it.

Got to give this front office credit, for as cheap as they are it's amazing this team is not only staying in the race threating to jump in front. Although, I guess it helped by the Phillies inconsistencies.

Sherrill has 2 or 3 years still under team control with the O's, and is cheap and effective. I don't think they'd be too willing to let him go without a pretty darn good return. If they got a nice 3rd base prospect or something, then who knows? McPhail has gotten good returns on most of his deals with the Orioles.

Plus, they must think they're in contention to win the NL East. They're nearly .500 on the road, and in that division, you never know what September will bring.

As much as I hate to say it, Uggla (and his 5.35 mil salary-it sucks that such a small contract is an issue) should be moved to shore up the bullpen. There has gotta be someone out there who needs power from 2nd base. We have the versitility to move guys around and make it work. Coughlan to 2nd, Brett Carroll to everyday outfield. I mean, our OF will be a bitt underwhelming with Carroll, Ross, and Hermida, but I our offense is still strong enough to compete if we get better pitching. (current 5th [NL] in runs scored, and 15th in runs allowed--in a pitcher's park). But no middle reliever is worth what Uggla is worth, and I don't think we should add a middle-of-the-road closer. We would have 3 shaky closers (Nunez, Lindstrom, player to be named) and 0 big guns.

The Marlins are going to have to pay dearly (in prospects) if they are going to acquire one of those first three guys listed (Soria, Sherrill or Bell).
