Suns General Manager Steve Kerr spent a few hours at Grant Hill's Orlando house Wednesday to begin re-recruiting him, and team personnel put in calls to free-agent big men Antonio McDyess, Channing Frye, Sean May, Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox.

The Suns have no identity right now.

Sure Amare can come back and have his best season but there are too many gaps.

Might as well trade Steve Nash too...

Well said.

Not sure what Kerr's plan is. If they want to cut salary and rebuild, what's the point of keeping 35-year-old Nash but trading Shaq and 27-year-old Amare? Earl Clark was a good pick but I don't think Nash-to-Earl sells as many tickets.

Shoot for the stars.

The Suns could be relevant if the trade Wallace for Chandler, the missing piece for their team

hmm.....
stiff, stiff, old guy, old guy, stiff, stiff

That's a great wish list stevie

Channing Frye or Chris Wilcox are the only ones I see athletic enough to try to keep up in that system, however the Suns would be better off giving Robin Lopez and Earl Clark that time in the front court.

Sean May? Horrible fit. I don't know if big boy can survive running those fast breaks.

It takes a few stiff old guys to make up for the loss of a good spry young big... oops... did I say too much...?

Suns need to rebuild fire their worthless GM and get a good coach then start rebuilding a team from the ground up.

Remember that Natl championship? He can run when he is motivated and maybe the suns fitness team that worked so well for Shaq can get May running again.

where is sammy dalembert on that list? you know you want him steve! please?

True. After I posted that, I remembered he did hustle up and down the court back then.

July 2, 2009  10:59 AM ET

out of that bunch listed I think Frye would be the best fit

Most of the teams are pursuing big men and the Suns is no exception. Those options they mentioned are not good enough and most of them are waiting for retirement. What's the problem w/ the big men you have right now in Robin Lopez and Amare? The Suns are very confuse.

I know what the plan is. THERE ISN'T ONE !!!!!!!!!!

Steve Kerr was a great 3 point shooter and a great role player for a championship caliber team...he is terrible in the front office....You send Marion away...then get Shaq and give up on him. Get rid of a coach that averaged 50 wins over 4,5 years, hire a terrible coach and then fire him...throw your best two players on the trading block...and then you want McDyess?

Idk Steve...i just dont know

COULD NOT HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF....fire Kerr, hire a experienced coach and let go of Nash and Hill and start building around Amare and that Earl Kidd...hopefully in a couple of years they can make the second round....

He should have thought about the biggie spot before unloading Shaq for used chewing gum and one sneaker.

It's genuinely sad to see the Suns going after a bunch of second rate big guys. This just further illustrates Sarver's unwillingness to pay for top tier talent. As such, the Suns will be relegated to the bottom of the standings for what will seem like an eternity.
