Dr. James Andrews, the world's most renowned surgeon said, "I'm not supposed to say anything but Brett kind of let that cat out of the bag on that HBO show," Andrews said. "I did his shoulder (arthroscopic) a few weeks ago. I visited him in Hattiesburg two weeks ago. He wants to play and he wants to play for the Minnesota Vikings. He wants to end his career on a high note and I hope he can. He's a tough guy, a great guy. I'm pulling for him. He wants to play. He just wants to make sure his shoulder and arm are healthy enough."

A new thread. About Favre. Hey Bart, pancakes, waffles, or eggs for breakfast? While you make up your mind, I'll get lunch started.

Favre found a guy to fix his throwing arm. Can someone fix his over-inflated ego? When the doc says: "... He wants to end his career on a high note..." I think we can all agree he already blew that one.

Who the Flock cares about Favre? He has taken over the monkier " I loves me some me!"
He has a t-shirt that says" There is no "I" in team, but there is a "ME!"

Send a psychiatrist to Hattiesburg. Brett needs treatment.

Of only we could have a happy ending like when Narcissus drowned after falling into pool he was using to admire himself.

Instead of an epic story we'll get stuck with kitschy commercials of Brett havin' fun with the boys.

Isn't this a direct violation of HIPAA laws? Doesn't this fall under patient confidentiality?

July 5, 2009  09:05 AM ET

Lou Gehrig was memorialized with the disease that consumed him.

Will Brett Favre's disease be diagnosed for the sad condition where the ass#hole grows and extends to the point that it becomes the entire person?

No he didn't blow it. It just means he will retire around week 9

Holy crap you live. The missing element. Thought you traveled through the Bermuda triangle or something.

RIP

Well good for him! He wants to be a viking when groes up. I wanna be a fireman when i get big.

July 5, 2009  09:17 AM ET

I just got off the phone with my orthopedic surgeon and he is getting ready to make an announcement on the issue later today.

Good point.

Sort of. The Bermuda triangle of network control.

New job, high security environment. Can't connect to FN. Nice feature: permitted web pages are scrubbed of ads. The sites you can see are free of Netflix and all the other crap. Long hours: I leave at 5:00 AM, return at 8:00 PM on good days.

Is it my imagination, or has nothing changed? We are still waiting for Brett to decide whether to fold or wad the toilet paper. Sheesh. Have I missed five weeks of this?

He is speaking in generalities, nothing specific so there aren't any problems.

Funny. I thought TO threw him under the bus.

Still, it is disturbing that a doctor would have any comment about a patient's medical condition other than to family members.

July 5, 2009  09:26 AM ET

During a recent training of FN writers, this rule was discussed: If the title of the day ends in Y, there has to be a Brett Favre thread.

At this point, that may be the only person he hasn't thrown under the bus yet.

I don't like it either and 95% of the doctors wouldn't even say what Andrews did.

RIP

Shocking news yesterday. His statistics will never do him justice. Without question, he was one of the toughest men to strap on the pads. He was missed when he left the playing field and will be missed even more now that he's left us all. What an unfortunate situation.
