The Lakers have had interest in Nate Robinson since the trade deadline. I didn't exactly see him as the master of the Triangle. But sometimes we - as in media - take N-Rob for granted. He truly is among the best Sixth Man out there.

The NY Post must be looking for someone else to suck up to, now that Marbury is fading.

sure..... nate for Kobe ?
lol

Nate won't be a Knick next season!

actually he might-
there was a story about him possibly signing the qualifying offer
- I find it hard to believe...
I'd think he'd be offered more somewhere....

but for a guy like him- one more good season in the NYC market
would do him well from a marketing standpoint.....
and teams might be in a more generous mood if the economy improves next year

I agree with jgb on this, Nate Robinson Qualifying Offer is $2,911,077 the question for Nate is what is looking for a small PG,.... Wait i know Kahn in MINN Flynn & Nate as starters

nah- nate's too tall for that system-
unless he's going to be their PF- then he's juuuuuuust right

I don't see Nate 'fitting' in a lot of places. There just isn't a lot of demand for a shoot first point guard. Imagine Kobe open, and Nate jacking up 3 balls. I'd guess he'll stay in New York.

I don't know if Nate would be a fit in LA,but with the stars in the front row he would definitely put on a show them. But I know Phil and Kobe won't like it.

Not exactly.. He's not playing along with Kobe. Better yet, imagine him in place of either Farmar or Vujacic on THE SECOND unit. It makes more sense that way.

Rather, there isn't a lot of demand for a 5'9" shooting guard. One place I can see Robinson fitting in is Chicago. The Bulls have guards in Rose, Salmons, and Hinrich that have the skills to run the point, but also have the size and defensive acumen to guard wingmen. Putting Robinson next to them would allow him to play his natural game on offense, while guarding opposing point guards.

too small..the lakers are weak enough on defense at the PG position why sign a mismatch in favor of your opponent

Nah, I'd rather have a Shannon Brown / Farmar PG rotation personally. And with all of Vujacic's faults, his E. Honda "100-hand slap" defense does get under opponent's skin enough to be somewhat effective, as opposed to Mr. There's-no-"D"-in-"Nate".

As for where would he fit in? That's a tough one. In NY, yes. He'd fit right in with the Warriors. lol. Maybe he could go to the Clippers... Dunleavy would be sure to have a heart attack by the end of that season. Then the Clips could get a good coach. (read: anybody but Dunleavy)

Call me crazy but to much of everything is never good.
The lakers got Ron Artest to come to them after Ariza quest for more money failed.
Shannon Brown will be that backup stud off the bench so why even grasp the thought of Nate to L.A?
How many damn players does this organization need cause with the addition of Artest they most likely will repeat which will crush Cavs fans hopes for that hunt of LBJ title.
Maybe 2010-2011 he may get it but as long as the lakers are top dogs its hard to come to grips that any team can crush them.

July 5, 2009  11:57 AM ET

He's an exciting player, but Phil likes big guards, not small shoot-first guards. Before the Lakers did that wouldn't they re-sign Shannon Brown, who showed some promise with them?

July 5, 2009  11:59 AM ET

Nah. He should go to Portland to make that boring team exciting

July 5, 2009  12:00 PM ET

Better yet play soccer. Height doesn't matter

July 5, 2009  12:01 PM ET

There wont be enough shots between Kobe, Artest and Nate.

July 5, 2009  12:02 PM ET

Brown is 6'4, and is developing into a good backup, possible starter. We need a pig PG to guard the likes of Billups etc.

July 5, 2009  12:08 PM ET

Nah, he's not going to fit the system. He's a shoot first PG. Don't know where he'll fit in, now that the Lakers have Artest and soon re-sign Lamar Odom and most likely Shannon Brown, Nate will probably be just warming the bench with Adam Morrison.

Add Gasol and Lamar to the mix. Nate will be lost in the rotation and will end up demanding to be traded.

He wont be a laker.
