05:35 AM ET 07.07 | Brett Favre may be the guy garnering all the attention about whether or not he will retire from the NFL, but there's another old, Hall of Fame bound veteran who also is unsure about his status for the 2009 season. That would be linebacker Junior Seau, who joined the New England Patriots late last year to help their depleted defense down the stretch. As of now, Seau says he's retired, but as you'll hear, that could change somewhere down the line. The veteran joined XX 1090 in San Diego to talk about his mindset about playing this year, why he partially understands what Brett Favre is going through, what kind of season he thinks Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson will have and when he thinks he might arrive at his decision about playing in 2009.

Oh please, not another one! And this one makes even less sense. LBs have to run around chasing and hitting RBs, TEs and WRs. QBs just drop back and throw (picks, in the case of Favre).

Stay home Junior. The Chargers have an outside shot, at best, at winning it all. Norv will find a way to blow it in the end.

Sick of these guys who don't want to play a full season, and want to pick their teams based on how likely they are to get SB rings...

i dont blame them [for wanting to pick their team]. they've all had good solid careers but left with a sense of incompleteness, chasing the elusive ring. and probably thats the reason, they cannot completely walk away from the game.

Does anyone remember his press conference when he signed with the Dolphins (I think) and spoke about himself in the third person the whole time? What a dork!

July 7, 2009  09:33 AM ET

give it up old man

July 7, 2009  09:43 AM ET

Washed up. Maybe they will put in special teams and let him be the wrecking ball. Oh yeah, he would be the one getting wrecked.
