06:20 AM ET 07.15 | San Francisco coach Mike Singletary explained how he almost made Michael Crabtree cry. Singletary said that he saw Crabtree doing a jog-through on the practice field. Singletary said he hadn't heard that Crabtree was medically clear, so he went over and told Crabtree to get on the sideline and sit until he gets full clearance. Singletary said Crabtree got "teary-eyed" because he wanted to be out there.

This is the kinda guy Singletary is looking for, someone who really wants to be out there and who really wants to work hard to improve himself as a football player. I see a bright future for Crabtree as a 49er.

This isn't even 1/8 of a story. FN needs some help, lets get Chris Cooley to write some stories for FN like he did for MMQB.

I agree. What is the point of telling this story?

July 15, 2009  08:26 AM ET

ok, if this was your way of showing the world how tough Crabtree is, and has "heart" - to be out there working out while injured ? ... I think it backfired

July 15, 2009  08:26 AM ET

This is all they can run? No "Favre wears a Viking helmet on weasel stomping day" breaking news?

Frisco knows which type of personnel fit the organization, a cry baby WR and a drawer dropping coach...what a bunch of pole huggers.

Buyer Beware! Ha! Freakin Ha Ha!

July 15, 2009  09:06 AM ET

And who is it that will be throwing the ball to Crabtree???

July 15, 2009  09:07 AM ET

If he really wanted to make Crabtree cry, he shoulda dropped his pants and shown him his new pair of Ole Miss boxers.
