09:01 AM ET 07.15 | Add Frank Mir to the growing list of fighters who think that Brock Lesnar's actions at UFC 100 were embarrassing to the sport. He was also not impressed by Lesnar's apology after being scolded by UFC President Dana White. "That's like: You steal a guy's bike, your dad kicks your ass, and then you apologize only because your dad kicked your ass," Mir told Doug Elfman of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "How genuine is that? I don't buy it." Mir wants a rubber match with Lesnar and hopes that putting on more weight will change the outcome next time.

I think Mir deserves it, he's 1 and 1 against him.

Unless Mir's game plan was to eventually tire Lesnar into the later rounds I don't understand why Mir cut so much weight. Was he trying to be quicker or more elusive with Brock? It didn't work. Mir made some mistakes during the fight and he knows it but now it sounds like he realizes he made even a bigger one by dropping some extra pounds against the big fella.

July 15, 2009  09:22 AM ET

Mir just wants another face lift.

July 15, 2009  09:56 AM ET

UNfortunatly for Mir, I'm not sure he is in the postition to ask for a rematch yet.....wonder who they will have him fight next

July 15, 2009  09:57 AM ET

Mir still not thinking straight after the beating he took from Lesnar. I like Mir and I even thought he had a chance to win the second fight again. But after watching that fight and watching the first fight again, I realized he just got lucky when he won the first fight. Gaining weight won't make much of difference, that will only get him somewhat stronger but also slower. Lesnar is too powerful and quick on his feet at that weight. Mir should just move on if he wants to keep his face together.

July 15, 2009  09:57 AM ET

This is ridiculous. Mir beat Brock in only his second fight ever. Clearly Lesnar was too inexperienced. Now after Brock brutalized Mir in less than two rounds, Mir thinks gaining some weight would result in a different outcome? Mir's win against Big Nog was a fluke. If he stays in the top contender mix instead of getting some build up fights, I bet Mir doesn't win his next two fights. He wouldn't beat Nog again. I also don't see him beating Couture, Cro Cop, Carwin or Velasquez. Mir is done.

Wow after a beat down you ask for another beat down, I mean how many beat down can you take until your brains finally says no more beat downs

I don't know how anyone who watched Mir-Nogueira could call the result a fluke. Mir absolutely dominated that fight.
It appears that you simply dislike Mir and dismiss his accomplishments to fit your opinion of him.

Really Mir? Really? I know you have looked in the Mirror, your face looked like an arrangement of balloons.

Nog was once a great HW but he's old and he's taken some of the greatest beatings this sport has ever seen ... and won. Mir beat Nog because he was the better fighter that night and he'd probably beat him again given the oppurtunity. I just don't see Mir beating Lesnar ever again ... he took a beating in the first fight and pulled out the win when Lesnar inexplicably stood up and gave him a knee bar ... a year later he gets his face turned into ground beef and takes a massive beating. Now he wants a rubber match ... he must be a glutton for punishment. Mir doesn't have it in him to beat Lesnar there's no shame in that ... but does he even believe he can win anymore ? or does Lesnar have to literally beat him to death before he realizes it.

July 15, 2009  11:12 AM ET

Get in line Frank...going to take at least three wins before you get a rematch.

somebody cue up the Rocky IV sound byte "IT'S SUICIDE! You've seen him, you know how strong he is. YOU CAN'T WIN"

Lesnar: "Prediction on a rematch? Pain!!"

I don't know what Mir is thinking here. No way does he have a chance at beating Lesnar again. He obviously got smarter than he was in their first fight. Lesnar is just to much for him. Take a couple of other fights, get back in your groove, then we will see.

I can hear Lesnar at the staredown the next time like "DEAD MEEEAT!!!

July 15, 2009  12:07 PM ET

I think it must be to sell his name and I don't Dana will give Mir the chance unless Mir racks up at least 2 wins against the likes of Carwin or Couture! Now if Fedor comes over to UFC I would rather see Fedor v Mir before Fedor Brock...I mean to say Brock is better then Fedor is a joke...the only question is can Fedor handle Lesnar. They have both beaten freaks but Fedor REALLY gives up some size to Brock...rumor is about....Lashley might be coming.

July 15, 2009  12:09 PM ET

Mir deserves a rubber match but he'll have to wait. There are others in line for the shot at the title. Though I have to agree with most statements on this board, I don't think he stands a chance, Lesnar's size trumps Mir's ability, period.

July 15, 2009  12:13 PM ET

I think he should fight Kimbo!

July 15, 2009  12:22 PM ET

I do not see how Mir has earned a rubber match; he was clearly out matched physically in both fights. In the first one he capitalized on a careless mistake and I don't think he will get that chance ever again in the ring with Brock.( fight him or not ) As Brock's bjj knowledge grows so does his ability to stop the "skill" of his opponents. Watching him plow through people for takedowns is just amazing; everyone says he can't win standing up..............but who can keep from being taken down by him????? Mir can't.

I agree 100%, He deserves a rematch because he did beat him once but I don't think he will ever beat this guy again. I really don't care much for Lesner and I like Mir more as a fighter but the tale of the tape is this: Lesner is Bigger, Stronger and Faster with a very solid wrestling background. Mir, Although has excellent submission skills can not match up with the speed and strength, If he would put on weight he would only hinder his other skills which is his athletic ability and submissions. Sure he would be a little stronger but he would be slower and this is not a good thing when fighting this giant.

On a separate note, I find it ironic that Mir says he wants to get bigger which simply means he is going to hit the weights more. And he made fun of Lesner before the fight for lifting and getting bigger!

Lesnar made a rookie mistake in that first loss to Mir. Had he not been pulled off him for "hitting the back of the head" in the first fight by the moron mazagatti, he would have won that one in the first round. In fact, until the idiot ref pulled him off, he was about 5 seconds from getting pulled off him to stop the fight because he was killing Mir then too.

Only way Mir deserves a shot to fight him again is if he beats the loser of the Carwin/Velasquez fight and then beats the winner of that one too, he may even need to beat the winner of the Couture/Nog fight too. He was dominated in both of the Lesnar fights and got extremely lucky in the 1st fight on 2 occassions to get a win there. Adding more muscle may not hurt his chances, but it doesn't appear he is as quick as Lesnar. The other thing to remember is that Brock is stronger than his size. He is like a grizzly bear and then you throw in the quickness of a lightweight on top of it? Mir might be able to add weight, but it's pretty hard to add that kind of quickness after adding 20-30 pounds.
