Riley wants athletic forward

09:18 AM ET 07.07 | While Pat Riley accepts that there is not another Dwyane Wade available on the market, he believes it is unfair to Wade not to pair him with a player with similar skills. Riley sounded as if he's prepared to move forward without James Posey, as well, especially if a more athletic type such as Corey Maggette or Ron Artest becomes available. Such an approach could cost the Heat the opportunity to land South Florida native Steve Blake, the free-agent Nuggets point guard.

Maggette is the man we need.**** Artest he's just a big headache and Shaq and Wade dont need that.Sign Blake and Magette.
BTW....can any1 tell me whats wrong about Dorrel Wright?

July 7, 2007  05:12 PM ET

Dorell Wright is slow and he messes up 2 many plays in the game!!! Why isnt walker on the trade block? I just dont like the get rid of Posey bandwagon we need his defense!!!!4get steve blake at 6mil a year Artest and/or magette!!!

Dorell Wright is a good players, maybe if he actually got any playing time, he'd develop. Walker isn't on the trade block because nobody will trade for him, he's a pile of human garbage. Blake wouldn't be a great fit because Wade actually handles the ball all the time, so having a pass first point guard with a lousy shot doesn't make much sense.

Haha, I hope Artest does go there. If you can get one decent non-crazy season from him, Heat will win the conference easily. That's why they should trade for him mid-season and harness his anger.

Whats wrong with Dorell Wright is that he is young and inexperienced and yes he does mess up plays, thats what inexperience does. If Riley commited to giving Dorell signifigant playing time witht he starting unit he can biuld confidence and learn in real time how to correct his mistakes. I hope the Heat bring in a great free agent and dont over pay for him. Kelenna Azubuike from the warriors would be great for the Heat If that doesnt work then the Heat need to commit to develop what they have.

I agree. We've had Dorrell Wright for years and they have yet to develop him. He could be Wade's Scotty Pippen if he gets a chance to develop his game time skills and game confidence. Look how many people leave the heat and become great after leaving Pat Riley's system. Pat Riley won't change and start playing his young players. What's is problem? is he really the stupid when he sees the success of Caron, ricky davis (yes he was a heater and can score, but not as a Heat player under Riley since he never really played), and a lot of other players. When players come to the heat, their scoring goes down, when they leave the heat, their scoring goes up (this includes the rookies and veterans: caron, mashburn, eddie jones, bruce bowen, almost every player whose played for Riley except his centers). I wish he would resign. let us keep the next good coach we get. if he's not willing to change, play his young players, develop players (called lazy coaches when you want veterans because you don't want to develop them or can't develop them), or learn and institute new offenses, he should quit because it doesn't matter what players we get, we will still lose.
