Carlos Boozer said Monday that he and the Jazz have ``mutually agreed'' to a trade, and it would be ``a beautiful thing'' if he wound up reunited with Olympic teammate Dwyane Wade on the Heat. Boozer and his wife, CeCe, have spent every offseason since 2004 in Miami -- first in a Brickell Key condominium and then in a $7.3 million waterfront home in Coconut Grove with their three children -- 3-year-old son Carmani and twin 2-year-olds Cameron and Cayden. That house is for sale, but they plan to stay in the area.

That instantly would put them in the running in the east.

Non story..... but things are definitely brewing

I think that this move will put them over the Hawks at No. 4 ... and if they manage to miracly steal Odom from LA, we will witness one of the most competitive seasons of all time ... with ORL-CLE-BOS-MIA ending in that places, IMO.

ORL is the team to beat with the signings of Bass & Barmes, the resigning of Gortat and the adcquisitions of Carter & Anderson. CLE and BOS got stronger too, so it would all end on who stays healthy and who can blend the newcomers faster to their system.

Being an eastern conference fan, I havent being this hype since old CHI days.

The last thing Miami needs is more booze.

They should be trying to stay dry, or at least stick to the gatorade.

July 21, 2009  08:40 AM ET

I don't think Boozer will stay healthy for a whole season, and he certainly does not play defense at all. But while he is healthy its a guaranteed 20/10 per game.

July 21, 2009  08:41 AM ET

I suspect he will end up with the Knicks for David Lee cos Mobley's 10mil contract is covered by insurance which means Utah doesn't have to pay that.. plus David Lee is younger and way better than Haslem... and who knows maybe Utah can return that first round draft pick back to the Knicks...

July 21, 2009  08:46 AM ET

man if everyone wants to play with Wade, why did they all sign with other teams?

July 21, 2009  08:46 AM ET

It would be a beautiful thing to see him in Miami but it certainly doesn't make them a automatic contender, maybe a 4 seed. Most importantly, they can't afford both Boozer and Lamar so LO would have to stay in L.A. where he belongs.

I dont think so buddy...They need more than that-really now...

July 21, 2009  08:55 AM ET

Boozer is a much better fit there than LO -
he would provide an actual low post scorer.....

I'll be glad when something gets done. I'm tired of hearing about where he might go. If the Heat also manage to get Odom, I think this puts them ahead of Cleveland.

I'm also tired of hearing about where he might go. I'm also tired of seeing the same 3 pics of Boozer. Honestly, you'd think the press would have more than 3 photos on file.

Chalmers
Wade
Beasley
Boozer
JO
That's a badass team right there definatly puts the pressure on the big 3 in the east. mv3-2010
if they get odom too then we are 2010 champs, no doubt.

July 21, 2009  09:38 AM ET

oniel, boozer, odom, wade, chalmers(starting lineup)
beasley, james jones, daequan cook, chris quin off the bench
plus oniels 22 mill off the books at end of the yr which they can use to replace him at center and maybe to filll some other voids on their bench

July 21, 2009  09:45 AM ET

Come to NY! I don't wanna see Jordan Hill anymore.

July 21, 2009  09:50 AM ET

wade will resign regardless because miami can offer him the most money because the cap will just go down and down. This will make him happy the just need a solid 6th man to pick it up because they dont have that then they will be in the top 4 only if that happens not before

July 21, 2009  09:58 AM ET

Boozer is a better move for the MIA than Odom. This will not make them champions but it will make them a formidable contender for the Eastern Conference Championship. Personally, I am not completely convinced this the only move Riley needs to make to keep Wade though.

July 21, 2009  09:58 AM ET

If Riley was the executive some think he is, he would go hard after Boozer, Odom, and Andre Miller. That's a team that can compete.

July 21, 2009  09:59 AM ET

Actually, the Heat are in the best cap shape for 2010, so they could aquire Boozer and sign Lamar Odom. The question then is who plays where because Beasley should be starting too.
