Hingis to compete in reality show

12:45 PM ET 08.25 | Former US Open champion Martina Hingis is taking her talents for entertaining to the dance floor. The five-time Grand Slam champion has signed on to appear as one of 16 contestants on Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC version of Dancing With the Stars. The 28-year-old Hingis will partner Matthew Cutler, who won Season 5 of the dance competition series. Boxer Joe Calzaghe is among the contestants on the show. Hingis has spent some of her spare time as a skier and an equestrian since she retired from tournament tennis in November of 2007 following a positive test for cocaine at the 2007 Wimbledon. She is the second former World No. 1 to compete in a dance competition after Monica Seles, who appeared on Dancing With The Stars. Hingis said she hopes to exceed the bar Seles set: the Hall of Famer was voted off the ABC show after her second performance.
