07:08 AM ET 09.08 | With the Chiefs and their forlorn offense badly in need of some good fortune, they received some with quarterback Matt Cassel's return to the practice field. It remained unclear whether the Chiefs would receive whatever lift Cassel could provide in Sunday's season opener in Baltimore. Coach Todd Haley would not commit to Cassel being ready to play against the Ravens.

Particularly going against the Ravens D

I think he's going to be a good QB, just not week 1 against that defense.

September 8, 2009  10:29 AM ET

He has a lot to prove and he knows it.. I just don't see him doing anything this year.

Not really. You expect the Chiefs to do what? Contend for a title? He wins 5 games, they'll give an extension.

bad o-line, no TE to rely on anymore, one good WR and a running game that's not very good...not quite patriot-land is it, Mr. Cassel?

Ravens comin' for ya...can't do nothin' for ya...(unless you're sitting out the game, in that case, you're okay and Mr. Thigpen might be in for a looooong afternoon).

The Ravens just want to win, not hurt him. They need him healthy to beat the Chargers twice and the Steelers once. The Ravens D will to the hurtin when they play the Patriot,Colts and Steelers.
