06:25 AM ET 09.11 | Braves third baseman Chipper Jones said he would consider retiring if he has another season in 2010 as frustrating and disappointing as this one has been. He signed a three-year, $42-million contract extension in March that runs through 2012, but the 37-year-old said he might walk away early if he doesn't play better than he has this season.

Great player, best wishes Chipper.

Another really slow baseball news day. When you get the Mets and Braves after having the Mets and Tigers yesterday, there is some barrel scraping going on.

I think it was the dead Mexican on his lawn that finally pushed him over the edge.

don't do it chipper. the braves will retrun one of the best rotations in baseball and will have a full year of mclouth at leadoff. Hanson is a budding star as well. this team has a nice 3-4 year window.

Yes, it stinks not having every article be about the Yankees or Red Sox. The Tigers have a nice lead in their division, so I don't think that they should qualify as barrel scrapers. Now, if you want to talk Lions.......

Classy move if he does in fact do it, I guess.

It's time to put an end to the Larry Chipper "Hooters" Jones legacy. Perhaps look at coaching.

Just having him still on the roster shows you how stupid Ted Turner is.

Ted, get your head out of your rear and replace Jones.

Dummy.

You may wish to rethink your post. Ted has had nothing ot do with the Braves for about 10 years now.

others have stated and I will pile one.

this was one of the dubmest posts ever written.

I think this latest collapse has really gotten to Chipper. It would be a classy move on his part but I hope he doesn't rush his decision. Our starting rotation looks pretty good for the next couple of years.....as always, the bullpen has been the problem and that's from being used too much in the first half of the season.

The streets are littered with the bodies of ex-ball players who's careers were ended because their lawns were littered with dead mexicans....
