07:13 AM ET 09.11 | Knick fans who are counting on LeBron James to join the hapless team after his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers expires next year had better have a Plan B. The hoops star's mother, Gloria, told Page Six it's not happening. "He's a hometown boy," she said. LeBron grew up in Akron, Ohio, but his home now is Cleveland.

Mamma Knows Best.

Lebron has already been playing for the Cavs for SIX seasons, has All the franchise records - pretty much.

Would it all be quite an achievement by going from Loser team (the Year before he is there) to bringing this team from the ground up. He has already had great success, it would just be a cop out if he goes somewhere else.

LMAO!

Normally, I would say Gloria is full of shyte. But this fits my agenda nicely, so I'll endorse her comments this time.

which is pretty sad that a player that played for a terrible franchise like cleveland..can have all the records in 6 years. Goes to show you how bad that franchise has been all along. People complain about the knicks but lets compair the 2 teams.
Cleveland Cavs
0 championships
1 conference title
2 division titles
NY KNICKS
2 championships
8 conference titles
9 division titles

Well if the knicks organization sucks..than what would you say about cleveland..the worst ever?????

Hush Mom - this doesn't help my negotiating.

September 11, 2009  08:10 AM ET

oh give me a break. 100% rumor.....

Hey LeBron, be a LeMan and stand up for your LeFans in LeCleveland, sign a LeExtension, and show you want to LeStay for your LeHome team LeCleveland instead of being an attention seeking LeDiva by dangling LeNY over LeClevelands head.

Where does his Mom say he is staying in Cleveland. For all we know the question asked to her was, is Lebron a Cleveland guy or a NY guy and of course she would say Cleveland cause thats where he is from. I do not see a quote that says, My son Lebron is staying in Cleveland and he is not going to NY. When I see her say that and it is on ESPN and not some homer Cav fans blog, I will believe it. He gets twice the endorsements he gets in Cleveland if he goes to NY just cause you get paid more cause marketing is easier, and his own channel which if you know how much the YES network makes he would only have to do 1/20th of the ratings they get to make more than his Knicks salary in a year. Money talks

September 11, 2009  08:31 AM ET

My mom would say the exact same thing...but I live in Germany anyway...

At the end of the day, its his life and, well...momma, Bron GOTTA get that money

As a Cavs fan born and raised in Cleveland...Bron BETTA get that money...the NewYork/New jersey market with your own channel? That is: a few million housholds x 1 buck per subscriber right there. Advertising, exposure, marketing vehicle...profits is through the ROOF! If Lebron is the CEO (or own it or whatever) of this channel, that has nothing to do with him playing ball for the Knickerbockers...

Dolan could just as easily arrange business so that Lebron owns the company completely aside from the Knicks organization and their parent company. It could be done (see Wall Street debacle and teh crap we are in today). Makes too much business sense.

If they pull off anything even apporaching that...Lebron is gone. And I'm happy for him. He will be a billionaire before he turns 28

September 11, 2009  08:31 AM ET

where is Lost(soul)Will?

September 11, 2009  08:34 AM ET

how sad is it that a team is pinning their hopes and dreams on a player who is still on another team? I just find the "Hopefully LeBron comes to the Knicks" talk as a little sad

September 11, 2009  08:34 AM ET

i'd like to see him stay in Ohio, be a 1 team player where's the loyalty? it seems players dont play for championships they play for money.. the money will always come championships won't..

September 11, 2009  08:36 AM ET

I'll believe LeBron is a 'hometown boy' when he passes on that much money. He's said many times over he wants to be sports first billionaire and that isn't going to happen in Cleveland. Very soon the lower bottom corner of his checks will read Dolan.

Spoken like the fan of a team that hasn't done much in recent memory except embarass themselves on and off the court.

I disagree a little about the money thing. Most play for money I agree..but once they are all set they will look for a championship. Lets look at Garnet. Played his entire career at Minny, couldnt win...than refused to take any extension..and when Boston Finally got under the cap..after 8 losing seasons..they had money...They made it public they wanted KG. KG waited to see what they would do...Boston signed Ray Allen..than KG told Minny he was gunna leave and they traded him to get something for him.

September 11, 2009  08:43 AM ET

Money will change n e ones mind..his and his mama's. someone writes him a big enough check she will "tell the future" then also...all of a sudden he wont be a hometown boy

September 11, 2009  08:47 AM ET

Well, it's over, King James mom said so.
