Kvapil closing in on ride?

Travis Kvapil fully expects to race in Sprint Cup next season after a year of unemployment. Kvapil has been in serious discussion with several respectable teams, he said, as well a few lesser ones and some in the Camping World Truck Series as an alternative. Sidelined when Yates couldn't find sponsorship, Kvapil expected to land a fill-in ride during the "silly season," but the traditional round of mid-season firings didn't happen. Meanwhile, Kvapil will drive for RAB Racing in the Nationwide Series this weekend, mostly to provide veteran feedback to the team, which has struggled with 19-year-old rookie John Wes Townley.

As you are. Travis has a title (in truck) and has run respectable in the cup with average equipment. Put him in a HMS car is see what he can do. These field filler comments and berating drivers outside of the top 5 gets tiresome to read. Maybe we simply just have 5 guys in your race and we will take the rest somewhere else, (not CA of course).

Oh - I guess I am a Kvapil fan.....he's a one of the nicer guys.

THANK YOU WILDFAN, SLY1, and PIG PEN for those great 911 pics. ^5 to you all.

my sarcastic comment about Travis "bein a veteren" etc was due to his youth etc. In my little mind ya can't be a "veteran" in racin if you are so young and have had inconsistent rides. ya git to be older and more wrinkled LOL

Right about the memorials!

September 11, 2009  02:46 PM ET

I thought that Kvapil had done reasonably well in the starts that he had been able to make, but was more than anything else a victim of sponsorship drying up. If he gets a decent ride, with decent equipment, he should be able to do more than the Start and Parkers, or some of the perennial barely in the top 35ers...

Thumbs up on the memorials! Everybody flying their flags today?

Great Pictures and remembrance of fallen hero's.

his two full seasons plus some runs from part time years yielded approximately a 25-27th average finish.
