07:47 AM ET 09.12 | The commissioner's office has decided not to discipline Alex Rodriguez in light of its investigation into whether he lied about his use of performance-enhancing drugs in a meeting with baseball officials in March, according to people in baseball with knowledge of the matter. Concerns about the truthfulness of Rodriguez's statements grew in the commissioner's office in April, after Selena Roberts's book was published. Many of the accusations in the book were not damning and were based on anonymous sources. Other accusations were several years old, and Roberts declined to cooperate with the investigation.

you mean to say major league baseball is turning a blind eye to a bunch of cheating? Who would have imagined that? Certainly the first time that has ever happened....Baseball. A once great sport, now a sad pathetic joke.

Hey, all you have to do is offer an insincere apology and you're off the hook. Seems fair. A smart move to sweep this never ending crap under the rug.

No, he won't be punished because MLB doesn't have a real commissioner.

A-Rod enjoys punishment ... that's why he's dating Kate. I've heard that's hazardous to one's health.

Arod should punch her in her fat face and then tell her to make him a sandwich and a big bowl of chicken noodle, now that would be T&R gold.

Did anyone ever expect Selig to do what was in the best interest of the game -- EVER? He spent my life (until very recently) as the owner of my hometown Brewers, and consistently ran the team into the ground... Would anyone expect him to stand up and act in the best interests of the game?

I'm telling you MLB is secretly condoning the use of PEDs because they know a power-surged baseball better competes with the other sports... They only say the right thing when a player comes positive, but will continue to allow it. Same with the players... they'll continue to use especially if they put up numbers... no player today talks about the hall... the hall is something that they can't control, they rely on votes... the thing they can control though is their production, and that is what they get paid for, the production, hence the PEDs...

Now to get my coffee and tylenol
