Doesn't he refuse to play Basketball for Canada though? I wonder if he will turn this offer down too.

Alright

Because he has back injuries. He spent 10+ years, playing hard every game for Canada, going to every practice and was captain. He has done more for Basketball Canada than any other person.

Nash has accomplished a lot carrying the torch!!

big deal

It's a great honor to be a torch bearer but realize we're talking Canadian February & Nash which means Freezing Temperature and Weak Bones....bad combo! Nash is too old so exposure to the cold weather will make him succeptible to Osteoporosis... maybe it's the indirect way of punishing him for refusing to play for Canada all these years... I think he should decline the offer due to his age and anatomy.

JJ Barea is carrying the torch for Puerto Rico. Or did he carry the torch last year? Okay, Big deal... Nash gave up on the Canadian team a long time ago...

I agree with you that Nash once poured his heart out for Canada. But he hasn't done more for Canadian Basketball than Dr. James Naismith.

^^and that was over 100 years ago^^ Canada needs to step up its sports programs other than Hockey.

right on! he played when nobody else in Canada played. Canada didnt want to get better players to support him. I mean, when u got Leo Rautins coaching and his son Andy Rautins in the starting line up u kno its badnews
