Looks like a suspension on the way for Posada if the umpire is already calling the incident that let to a bench clearing brawl a "cheap shot". I guess the ump isn't questioning fault on this one.

How many games will Pussada get suspended for?My guess is 10-12 and deservedly so.

Stupid, stupid move by Posada. Your team is pretty much on cruise control going into the playoffs, and you get yourself suspended for a good 5-10 games just to let a pitcher know you didn't like being the retaliation target? When the ball didn't even hit you? Idiotic. Of course, as a Sox fan, I love it, but Posada's teammates...not to mention his manager...must be livid.

With all due respect,I disagree.Posada was clearly the agressor and we know what Jim Joyce will tell Selig when he gets asked about the fight.I think a minimum of 5 games is called for,but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more.

I'd be surprised if it's only 2-3 games. Youkilis got 5 games for charging the mound after being hit a zillion times. You were right in your first post, that the umpire calling it a cheap shot is going to affect the decision, but I think there's a strong chance it adds games to the suspension.

Balls...wassup all....I did not realize you could cheap shot a glove...I could be wrong, but I seem to remmeber some past games against toronto, where a few yanks were plunked this season, besides which, I'll take the Yankee homer position, and say that the guy was half in the basepath...Jorge should have shown him the old Albert Belle treatment

No big deal, Jorge gets a nice rest and the Yankees just increase their lead.
As for the Umps, they need to shut up. They have no place making those statements to the press. Their opinion is for Watson and no one else.

Yeah, well look back and you'll see Posada is not the only Yankee Carlson has thrown at. Got ol' Jesse a nice not on his head though.
