08:27 AM ET 09.27 | Tim Duncan has lost 15 pounds. Duncan has also lost pain in his knees. This summer, he returned to his first sport, swimming, when he hasn't been on an anti-gravity treadmill that was recently added to the Spurs' practice facility. He didn't play five-man basketball until this month, and then for a handful of days.

lol... my first thought was... 'sounds like eddy curry' and bam you already nailed it. I heard he's down to 317 pounds... now I don't know what that means on the basketball court. He can be a difference maker this season if he can give us that low post presence and hopefully Larry Hughes will be healthy and help out as guard play is crucial in this league.

I'm kinda pissed about the line up D'Antoni is leaning towards...

Duhon
Chandler
Gallo
Harrington
Lee

That's a big back court and a very suspect front court. Al and Lee have to step up their defense - something they're not known for. I'm not sure of what shape Darko and Curry are in but we need some size man..Darko especially if he can play he needs to be in the starting lineup. Harrington can come off the bench... if your best scorer is a shooting guard in a power forward's body he needs to come off the bench which should allow Lee to play his natural position - the 4!

I think Eddy got in trouble for asking the limo driver to be his pool buddy.

I really- in my heart of hearts- thnk we're going to turn over
the roster mid-season....we have ALOT of individual talent that
have expiring deals- ala- Al- I mean people can say how he's
dumb, not a team player, etc- all true-
but at 6'9- he is REMARKABLY talented offensively- and can help
out a contending team
Hughes to a MUCH lesser extent
Even Lee/Nate- once signed- will be valuable trading pieces

I hope we can make out 'big move' mid-season and not wait
til the summer or we are in trouble- cause 1/2 the league is
going to be wanting to do the same thing

September 27, 2009  11:08 AM ET

I thought maybe he went on the Lendale White diet...

September 27, 2009  11:46 AM ET

I didn't know that had a gym at retirement homes?

September 27, 2009  12:08 PM ET

Duncan going to need that weight back to deal with Bynum and Gasol this season. The Spurs has no shot of beating LA full strength this season.

September 27, 2009  12:19 PM ET

lol...no shot?
I mean come on- you gotta stop being a Laker homer or
no one will take you seriously

Look- I think LA is the best team- but SA - if healthy is right there
to say they have 'no shot' is un-intelligent....
I mean they do have a guy named TIM DUNCAN over there who
has JUST AS MANY RINGS as Kobe, a coach who arguably is =
or BETTER than Phil and a PG who is FAR better than anyone
LA has.

Dude, c'mon. You've lost it.

And it's not just the Spurs that have improved. There are a whole lot of teams that are looking much better this year.

You need to take a more objective look at your own team.

September 27, 2009  02:39 PM ET

Did he join Dan Marino's Nutrisystem team?

September 27, 2009  03:04 PM ET

This just shows how serious Timmy is coming into the season. He believes that he has something to prove after last season and really wants to prove that he can still be better then before. W/ the new additions to the Spurs, I believe this team will be very scary. Pop will get this team together and make sure that they are all on the same page. It looks like they have upgraded players in almost every position except for the center position which could be a problem.

September 27, 2009  03:16 PM ET

The Spurs have added bangers that will help compete with the Lakers inside and take some of the defensive pressure off of Tim. Personally, the Nuggets scare me more as a physical team than the Lakers. Gasol has a European game (i.e. soft), and we'll see how Bynum holds up. One thing for certain, Pop will keep Duncan's minutes down to keep him fresh for the playoff push. The x-factor is how much rest is Manu getting, because a combo of him and Jefferson running with Tony is lethal.

The Spurs has no shot. First, LA has the size over San Antonio. After Duncan, there is no other big man that can hang with Odom, Bynum, or Gasol. McDyess or Ratliff are not dependable as people think they are now in their careers. Second, Kobe, there is no one on the Spurs team or planet earth can hang with the best player in the world. Ron Ron, timid RJ or Ginoboli (if he is healthy) do not want to bang with that beast on the court.

I just see a mismatch with LA beating SA in 5 games. Spurs are not athletically or big enough to hang with the champs. That is the truth.

What bangers did they add? If they have added Wallace then that would be a problem? But washed up Ratliff and Mcdyess, they dont cut it against that tall lineup in LA. And the second and biggest problem for you Spurs fans, who is going to hold the great Kobe Bryant. Kobe has own the Spurs over his career even against Bowen in the past. Now, SA has no defender to even try to slow down the best player of this generation in Kobe Bryant.

Who are the champs dude? Oh yes, the LA Lakers. They are going to repeat as champions this season. So, get the parade ready in June. Spurs fans can get front side tickets to see LA Drive for 5 championship tour to be complete this summer.
