07:39 AM ET 09.29 | During his media availability Monday, Larry Brown was asked about what the Bobcats could have done for a backup power forward. Brown mentioned that Drew Gooden was available. Brown mentioned that Hakim Warrick was available. Brown mentioned that Antonio McDyess was available. You'll notice that none of those players are on the Bobcats roster as training camp starts here Tuesday morning. What does that tell you about the Bobcats' commitment to winning?

It's good to see Brown is maintaining a good relationship with the owner and GM this time around...

I don't know what it says about the Bobcats commitment, but having experienced Larry Brown in NY, I know what it says about him. He constantly complains to the press about players, and yearns for players on other teams. Maybe he is just getting old and grumpy.

sorta/kinda...but this time his gripe is legit! he is really trying to build something here but the front office led by "His Bitterness" (MJ) refuses to acquire depth..he's done good by us so far

good for him.....Call the organization out. Larry needs all the help he can get, and he expects the front office to give him the players he needs to compete. Well-played Larry, well-played!

First off, the people who don't live in the NC area have no clue of what is going on with this team. Just because he couldn't fix that mess that is the Knicks (and frankly I'm not sure anyone short of God can), doesn't indicate what he can do. The 'Cats front office has been ordered by Bob Johnson not to go out and spend money because he is trying to sell the team and is afraid that putting the team into the luxury tax realm will make it hard for him to do that. The 'Cats have made some pretty good moves over the last year or so since Brown came on board. They've mainly listened to Larry and gotten him players he has wanted (Diaw, Bell) or have moved players out that he didn't (May, Morrison). They failed to negotiate a long term contract with Ray Felton thanks to Johnson's edict. Brown wanted Felton extended instead of giving him a qualifying offer. Thanks to Johnson, the 'Cats risk losing Felton as an unrestricted free agent after this season. Bob Johnson is the reason the 'Cats are taking so long to become good, not Larry Brown or Michael Jordan (who is really just a figure head in the first place).
