Busch leaning toward Childress?

Kyle Busch has been in talks with Richard Childress Racing about driving in the Busch Series in 2008 [whatever the series ends up being named], which probably means RCR would be the front runner for Busch in a Cup Series ride.

Makes sense.....

The DEI chatter was foolish. This is the type of kid to understand that if DEI wasn't cutting the mustard for Junior it could never be good enough for him.

This guy is a real beauty personality wise but he hits that track aiming to win and his priority is going to whatever team has the chance to give him the best equipment...

Well, I think in looking at the dominance that HMS is showing this year...he's about to leave the team that could have given him the best equipment. Where he goes from here will be a team trying to catch up to what HMS has already figured out, especially when it comes to the COT. Why do you think Jr went to HMS? So in essence Kyle is looking for a team that at this point is second best to what he had before.

That probably would be Gibbs, I think Gibbs is better than RCR.

Don't do it, Richard!!! Save the spot for Tony!

Also, you'd think now that they have an article on Childress, fannation could finally use that picture of "Rick Hendrick" they always post....

Wow...Stewart and Kyle on the same team...scary. Stewart talks smack about Kyle and Kyle talks smack back and then we have a fight in the garage area...you know, the more I think about that the more I like it!!!

July 10, 2007  10:46 AM ET

I don't know about this one. I think RCR actually has a pretty good dynamic going on the team. Burton, Harvick, and Bowyer seem to fit well together. Busch would probably screw that up with his attitude. If he goes there he will be the 4th car, the newer car, so undoubtedly performance on that car would probably not measure up to his expectations.

July 10, 2007  10:55 AM ET

He becomes the forth driver for Evernham, then he and Kayne will become the most dominate duo on the track.

July 10, 2007  10:55 AM ET

I'd have to agree with noydbyj on this one. Why on earth would Childress want problems in an otherwise settled group of drivers? Kyle has a great future when he's knocks off the immature act and quit wrecking cars. Being aggressive for the sake of being aggressive is nuts! With seasoned vets already on the team, Kyle's attitude could raise issues that need not be addressed. Take Tony like the man said!

July 10, 2007  10:58 AM ET

Maybe they could put him in the #3.

July 10, 2007  11:04 AM ET

Why would Childress want him? Because he is one of the top five drivers in the cup series! Hendrick was looking purely at the glamour shots that he will be able to get with Jr. Certainly not because he is a top tier driver. Anyone willing to be honest must agree. However, if you are trying to stuff a Gordan or Johnson doll down my throat, then we have nothing to discuss.

You are an internet loser - inaccurate name buddy, should be I am an internet loser. Stop posting useless pointless tidbits on all the topics...............loser indeed.

Maybe thats Kyle in his free time??

July 10, 2007  11:19 AM ET

Of course Kyle's a top tier driver, but he comes with loads of baggage along with him. Off the top of my head, here are 3 drivers that may not have the talent, but who I would take in less than a second over KB: Greg Biffle. Joe Nemacheck (even though he's older). Casey Mears.

July 10, 2007  11:54 AM ET

If Big E was still alive, he'd have gotten rid of Shrub by now and RCR defintely wouldn't be considering him

July 10, 2007  01:57 PM ET

noydbyj, you have got to be kidding me???? Please confess that you are kidding. If you aren't kidding, then I don't believe we can have a decent conversation about this matter. So, you just ahead and keep blowing your smoke up someone else's rear. Do you know what this is "." End of story.

July 10, 2007  02:18 PM ET

What's wrong with Front Row Joe? I know he's older, but so what? If Sterling can keep getting rides, why not Nemacheck?

July 10, 2007  02:59 PM ET

Joe seems like a great guy (whenever he gets any exposure). Its a shame he dosnt get more interview time or a top tier drive. Not sure what KMC's bug is - he disagrees with Kyle being a great driver? Pretty sure all of the commentators have said the same thing.

July 10, 2007  03:05 PM ET

I just figured he was ripping either on Joe's ability or Biff's baggage. All I said is I'd take either over Kyle...especially right now.
