One of last week's three brawls involving University of Kansas basketball and football players has become the subject of a criminal investigation by university police. Public Safety Office Maj. Chris Keary said a disorderly conduct investigation has been opened on the incident outside of Burge Union around 6:50 p.m. on Sept. 22. In the fight, the first of three involving the athletes over a 16-hour period, basketball player Tyshawn Taylor dislocated his thumb. Surveillance video obtained by The Star showed dozens of people outside the union and in the neighboring parking lot, and many spilling into Burge when a police vehicle drove up.

Everyone knows basketball and football don't mix on campus.. too many egos involved along with other things.. surprised this doesn't happen more often

at first i saw the caption and thought that the entire KU athletic program was in turmoil. but, it's the same story about the basKeTball vs football team.

So baseball, basketball, and football all involved. Soccer and hockey need to jump in and show how it's done.

Shouldnt they be focusing that energy on the OTHER teams, not their own?

Sounds like a new primetime show: balls verses balls.

KU doesn't have hockey, not sure about soccer, but as you say, why stop there? Get track and field athletes, cheerleaders, rodeo team, (KU doesn't have wrestling, otherwise that group would be the first to take rears and kick names, lol), bowlers, golfers, pom pom squad (surely one of those girls knows some BJJ, hah hah), swimmers, debate team, ROTC, let's just do a campus-wide brawl and get it over with. What say you, KU???

Maybe the kid who got popped for DUI was depressed because he was one of the ones who got a beatdown or....handed out a beatdown and feels guilty about it.
