09:56 AM ET 10.04 | As the Sooners were preparing to play Miami, they were getting a head start on their 2011 recruiting class. OU received its first verbal commitment for the class of 2011 in Arlington, Texas, wide receiver Kameel Jackson. Jackson, who attends Sam Houston High School, caught 54 passes for 761 yards and seven touchdowns last season as a sophomore. Jackson, 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, also held offers from Kansas, Nebraska, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

At first, OU seemed to have the game in hand against Miami. The adjustments made at the half by Miami's D greatly influenced the outcome of the game. OU's D had a good plan against Miami. The 'Canes last score was a heartbreaker for Sooners fans.

No excuses.
The 'Canes were missing quite a few starters and backups due to injuries.

One of the requirements for a Sooner recruit is that he must always choke in a big game. Couldn't OU win all the games they win with no coach? They lose to Texas every year, beat all the cupcakes in the Big-12 that EVERYONE beats and then get to the national championship, which everyone KNOWS they don't stand a chance in hell of winning.
The silver lining to their loss against Miami is that they won't get embarrassed against Boise St. in a BCS bowl game again this year.... although they probably WILL get embarrassed when they lose the Hawaii Bowl to Hawaii.
How stupid is Sam Bradford, btw? Came back to a loser program that lost their entire offensive line, then he's out for the season in the first half of the first game. I guess that's the difference in education between OU and USC.

yeah sandy...your right...i guess we cant all pay our players 100s of thousands of dollars to play and then **** the NCAA investigators with amazing, slut like precision so no trouble happens.....im not an excuse guy..im a realist, and hats off to miami at the end, but lets see USC lose there top offensive playmakers and see where they get...OH WAIT, they only lost there QB for one game..how'd that game turn out again?? some fans out there crack me up honestly, TEXAS has won the last few game, ill give you that, but EVERY year??....how do you function in life with a long-term memory that only goes back 3 or 4 years??..that must be a hell of a time

and huskrtx, im not ripping on you or anything with this comment, but you need to watch a little more college football or do some research. When it comes to recruits and those mystical "Stars"...excluding the top 1 or 2 recruits in the nation or the "once in 25 year talents" like adrian peterson or reggie bush(although, he hasn't done diddly squat in the NFL)..whether they are 5 stars or 2, its generally a crapshoot

You really do need to increase your oxygen intake you brain dead dweeb. Your boy Matt "I ride the pine in AZ" Leinart did the same thing just to have lost the NC to Texas. So again where is the difference in education?

Obviously you have an inferior education as well. The difference between Leinart and Bradford is stark. Leinart makes $9 mil a year to hold a clipboard and never get hit, he was going for a 3-Pete in his final year at SC, and he never got hurt, and was drafted in the first round. Also Leinart actually led the Trojans to an undefeated regular season and to the BCS championship game. Nobody believed Bradford would make it back to the big game since OU lost their entire O-line. People didn't mention the fact that losing their entire O-line would expose Bradford to career ending injuries, but I guess they know now. Some say "better late than never", but I don't.

You don't seem like a realist. You claim that USC pays their players $100s of thousands of dollars to play and the NCAA hasn't figured it out. The NCAA didn't have a hard time vacating a couple seasons worth of games where Oklahoma paid Rhett Bohmar and the rest of the team by funneling their paychecks through some sham used car dealer they weren't really working for. Real upstanding program, and you guys got busted for it. I'd normally call for the death penalty on a program that behaves like that, but it's too fun seeing you guys lose every big game you play in. The Sooners are pretty much the Notre Dame of the Big-12.

On top of that, the Polls still have a 2-2 OU team ranked in the top 25...disgusting....

Sandy Underpants: Lose every big game? What is the Big 12 championship? If you new anything about college ball you would have known that Peterson was not able to play more than three plays against Boise, let's take out White and Bush and see how well USC could run the ball. By the way, losing to Texas 4 out 5 is not the disgrace that losing to the Oregon schools is numnuts.
