07:09 AM ET 10.06 | Greg Norman paid an especially high price to wed Chris Evert: His divorce from his wife of 25 years, former flight attendant Laura Andrassy, set him back a staggering $103 million. Andrassy didn't hesitate to offer insight into why the Norman-Evert union fizzled, telling the Sydney Sunday Telegraph, "I didn't think it would last because they are both too alike. They are both high-profile, narcissistic people." A friend of Evert blamed the separation on the fact that she didn't want to move into Norman's $60 million estate on Jupiter Island, Fla. "Chris hated the idea of living in the same place Greg shared with Laura," the source told Britain's Mirror. Another insider claims that Norman's kids from his marriage to Andrassy were not fond of Evert "at all."

Just when it looks like his marriage was about to win, Norman finds a way to choke coming down the stretch...<sigh>

You can't expect kids to be fond of a family break-up or to readily take to the reason for the break-up aka Evert.

There's got to be more to it than the kids or the house.

Greg might have thought to himself: "What was I thinking? Instead of marrying a younger woman who still had plenty of frama zamma I went for the old piece of zwiback. I've got to re-think this dude".

But if it's Chris who's pissed, he can fix that. Just buy a new house and tell the kids to ****.

"the old piece of zwiback."

That's the funniest thing I've read on FN in a long time.

That's good, Jonis, real good.

Hell I'm not fond of Evert at all either. maybe she wouldn't wash his balls.

Maybe Chris just thinks it's time to change balls.

He's a cheat and an adulterer, and Evert was a willing participant in his self-absorbed, dishonest behavior.

How could anything good come from the union of two such despicable human beings.

You reap what you sow.

um.....why exactly is Chris Evert such a "despicable human being"?

October 6, 2009  11:46 AM ET

You can only scale Evert so many times. (old but still funny)

October 6, 2009  12:00 PM ET

With Norman's money why would he want a sundried out old tea bag like Evert. Go get a nice fresh tomato from the vine and throw out the old hag with the baggage.

October 6, 2009  12:48 PM ET

maybe she does care for the way he drives it in the rough.
(the pun potential is endless on this one)

Say what!?!? Norman admitted he and Evert were sleeping together even BEFORE he separated from his ex-wife.

THAT is why both he and she are despicable human beings.

It never ceases to amaze me how often people will try to defend/justify/minimize the vile, immoral, dishonest behavior of individuals they idolize and worship.

"I don't care what he/she did! He/she is my favorite celebrity/athlete, so I'm still going to grovel, bootlick and worship him/her."

October 6, 2009  02:03 PM ET

Greg and Chris are on the outs!? Wow, I sure didn't see this one coming. Gosh, I thought they'd last forever, just like Kevin and Brittany.

Agreed.

They're human beings who unfortunately made some dumb moves (moves wherein thinking usually doesn't enter the picture) and they'll suffer for it.

But, despicable human beings? No my friend. A despicable person would be like Dick Cheney.

Sending young people off to war simply so that a few of his friends could grease their pockets.

That's despicable 101 and he deserves to be sentenced to hard labor in a prison camp for the rest of his miserable life.

THUMP! That's the sound of Gregs golf game hitting the ground!

So True! Cheney is a **** Bag with a capital ****! When the rich wage war it's the poor that die!

Off in the bunker he goes, deep sand, many stokes of the pocket to get out.

That's one of the best excuses for a divorce I ever heard - she didn't want to move into his $60,000,000 estate on Jupiter Island. Awesome. Totally dawesome.

I have to agree... You'd think they could re-decorate or something to make it into 'her' palace... It must be tough to have to live under such circumstances.
