07:40 AM ET 10.12 | The Suns and Warriors held trade talks prior to the June draft that could have sent Amare Stoudemire to Golden State for Andris Biedrins, Brandan Wright, Marco Belinelli and the No. 7 pick. But once Stephen Curry unexpectedly became available at the pick, the deal was squashed by the Warriors. Curry said he did not know of the talks then. The Suns, eyeing Jordan Hill at No. 7, were elated when they thought Curry could be part of the deal.

The end of June called. Wants it's story back.

ZZZZZZZZZZZ - Wholly crap did the summer roll back again...?

October 12, 2009  08:46 AM ET

still rather silly for GS- which has 57 guards on the roster
to covet ANOTHER one, rather than to trade for a PF

Irrelevant...

At this point who cares. Amare will be gone by the trade deadline . . . .It will be interesting to see who he goes to.

Are you kidding? Nellie will come up with a point-center or point-assistant coach next. He is, afterall, a genius.

Old Arse Story!!!!!!

October 12, 2009  10:31 AM ET

this is not a story. the suns should trade steve nash and amare stoudemire for kevin love.

The Warriors need a center. To make a move for a forward makes no sense at all. Stoudemire would have been another in a long list of bad personnel decisions by the Warriors.

I think they have a decent center in Beidrinis. Don't forget he put up a double double all of last season adn is still realtively young. He will have the chance to get much better.

I think their biggest need is a PF and some defensive minded players.

actually their biggest needs are
new ownership, management and coach

I agree with you on Beidrins- he's good enough to win with

They already brough this up before and they brought it up also in the TNT telecast. Just forget about it.

October 12, 2009  03:39 PM ET

no need to venture into what could've been

October 12, 2009  03:51 PM ET

what they need is a new owner, president and GM and a new coach...thats what they really need more then anything....theyre as bad as the knicks at this point and less entertaining....

October 12, 2009  03:59 PM ET

Thanks for the Biedrins love guys. The kid is a player. A little one dimensional in that he has no offensive game outside of 5 feet from the hoop. He does have excellent hands and runs the court really well. Plus he is young and has rebounded from the few injuries he has had really well. I rank him def top 10 center in the league and going up....

Wasn't it already leaked that Amare wouldn't play in GS and would have squashed the deal?

Thank God he did if so. I am sorry but I do not think that:

Amare = Andris, Steph Curry, Brandan Wright and other dude(I was never sold on Belenelli).

This would've been a lopsided trade and just another debacle in a long list of disappointng moves made by GS management.

Steve Kerr should trade Amare Stoudemire to New York Knicks for David Lee and Jordan Hill. It will be good for both team since New York will not be able to pry away Lebron from Cleveland or Wade from Miami....
