FC President Dana White was unhappy with the way mixed martial arts was represented during a recent episode of The Simpsons. In "The Great Wife Hope" edition of the popular cartoon show, Marge Simpson decides to pursue MMA after the entire male population of Springfield becomes addicted to UPKCC action (Ultimate Punch, Kick and Choke Championship), and face UPKCC president Chet Englebrick in a loser leaves town-type matchup to rid the town of the sport. "I was disappointed," White told USA Today. "I think it was typical of people that don't know anything about the sport. I know it's for fun, but the second half of it really wasn't even funny."

MMA = WWF Who's Dana White?

The Simpsons didn't accurately portray MMA?! How dare they?! This is the show that made all the steel workers of the US out to be gay. That's what the show does, and why it's funny. Lighten up Dana, consider it free publicity for the growing sport.

Bull crap - Simpsons is funny every week. It just went over your head ya moron

The Simpsons hasn't been relevant since I was in junior high school, and the show has been steadily declining since about Season 10. Who cares?

October 20, 2009  10:14 AM ET

That is the point of the simpsons... To complain just makes you and your sport look worse. no one is going to take that shows portrayal of anything serious

Most celebrities consider an appearance on the Simpsons as a sign that they have "Made it". Dana should look at it the same way; MMA is now big enough for the Simpsons to have dedicated an episode to it. Did he expect to end up with a cartoon documentary?

October 20, 2009  10:33 AM ET

Dana being Dana... I though this guy was suppose to be smart? Yet he has no clue what a show like the Simpsons is all about?

Says who, you? Just because you lost interest? The shows topics are relevent - did you see the one on illegal immigration? I think not. Its ageless and still well written. (Why am I arguing for a cartoon - cow a bunga).

October 20, 2009  11:16 AM ET

He's right, it wasn't funny.

The Simpsons haven't been funny years.

October 20, 2009  11:44 AM ET

Just because you don't understand it does not automatically not make it funny. You just did not get it. I agree. It all went over your heads.

October 20, 2009  11:57 AM ET

The second half wasn't even funny? How about the whole thing. Every episode has maybe 2 jokes that I chuckle at. The shows to tame when you have American Dad and Family guy after it. The Simpsons is only still on the air after 20 years because FOX loves to keep garbage shows on the air. Plus, 35 year old virgins still love the show.

Thats a good point both about the virgins and the Family Guy follow-up.
