07:36 AM ET 10.21 | A few hours after Jeff Fisher donned an Indianapolis Colts jersey at a fundraiser for Nashville's Rocketown, the Titans coach apologized for it during his weekly radio show on Tuesday night. Fisher appeared during the event at Lipscomb University along with former Colts coach Tony Dungy and country music star Martina McBride, among others. As Fisher introduced Dungy, he removed his jacket and dress shirt to reveal a blue Peyton Manning jersey underneath. Fisher stepped back up to the microphone and said, "I just wanted to feel like a winner," drawing laughter and applause from the crowd of about 2,500.

WOW!!!

I've always thought much more of Fisher than this....

No D.C. job for you my friend.

It is kind of funny, give the guy a break. doesn't anyone know humor when they see it anymore?

C'mon 50... He's the face of the Titan franchise, and now that they're off to a 0-6 start, he pulls this act?

October 21, 2009  07:52 AM ET

his own players are not gonna like this at all....is Fisher calling them losers? oh wait they are

You ain't know?

For a guy who is struggling to keep his job because of the 0-6 start, this doesn't seem like a good way to convince the owers to keep you around for another year or so.

October 21, 2009  07:59 AM ET

People should have a sense of humor...although......this is not the time to do this. Now if the Titans were 6-0....then I don't see a problem.

Undoubtedly humourous to the audience, but I am sure more than a few people on his own team will be irked.

October 21, 2009  08:00 AM ET

I'm sure members of his audience got a laugh out of it, but I'm pretty sure some of his players will be or were a tad irked over the reminder on how the season has gone so far and their coach ribbing them like this.

October 21, 2009  08:01 AM ET

Would be funnier if Belichek did this instead...

For a guy who might be in the market for another job, though, it's an interesting way to get people to see you're available.

Indy is one place he certainly won't be going, not as HC, anyway.

Cut the guy some slack. After you lose 59-0 in the snow in October, you can be excused for joking about the situation. What else can you do when God Himself is dumping on you?

The players should be upset, but not at the coach.

Exacto.

I like JF... I like him more now. That was funny. He's not caling his team losers either. It called humor and he's poking fun at himself first, then his team. :)

You can't forget who pays your bills though.

True, they should be upset at their own play. But you know there is likely a thin-skinned player who will be irked by this.

Oh and sorry for the double posting, my computer is acting funny this morning. Think I need to pour some coffee into it to wake it up, haha.

If this puts a fire under them, so much the better. Obviously, nothing he's done since Week One has had an effect. Maybe if the whole team can agree to hate the coach, they'll begin to act like professional athletes instead of the cardboard cutouts that showed up last Sunday.

October 21, 2009  08:04 AM ET

he would not be apologizing now...if he did not think he screwed up then

When your computer is out of whack, you need to pour more whack into it.
