Why Indians may pass on Valentine

06:29 AM ET 10.23 | For the Indians, Bobby Valentine is a baseball wild-card. He has spent the past six years managing Japan, and admits being out of touch with the American League. He claims no expertise about the Tribe's roster and confessed to skipping his homework. He also happens to be the only candidate to replace manager Eric Wedge who has any success as a major-league manager. His stance seems to be: If you want me, take me as I am. I'm not about to beg for this job. Odds are that he'll make a major impact in the dugout, either good or bad. The former Mets and Rangers manager may turn out to be hopelessly out of touch with the American game, a guy out for one last big payday at the age of 59.

Because when he is thrown out of a game, he sneaks back to the dugout wearing black electrical tape for a fake mustache?

I think if Bobby would be ok even if he hasn't done his homework. He went over to Japan with limited knowledge of the team he would be coaching and succeeded there. Baseball is Baseball no matter where you go, He has proven that he can get a team prepared to play whether they are in the MLB or Japaneese league.

I can't tell if you hate the Indians, are trying to get to me, or are just retarded.

I take that back. I don't think you're retarded. Maybe a savant, though.

Yeah, don't hire a guy who has been there and can actually build a championship club. That would show an intention to try and win. The Indians are all about how cheap of a product can they put on the field and not about winning.

In fact, why is anyone even writing about this pathetic franchise?

doesn't everyone love Valentine?

I comment about them because they are a team I grew up watching and will root for them until I die. Sounds like you are one of those people who root for a team when they are winning and drop them when they are loosing, Isn't that called Frontrunning, Fair weather fans. So they don't have the luxury to spend like the Yanks, Sox or Angels, This is not going to stop me or most fans from rooting for them. When they do end up winning it all it will be that much sweeter and I am sure by that time you will be back on board.

No, I would not say that just comparing them to teams that spend more. No offense to the Angels was meant.
