I hope Mulder is able to make a return. I always liked the guy. He worked hard, never complained, and attempted to do anything asked of him. Even when he knew he was going to get his brains beat out on the hill, he'd still try it when they asked.

They asked him to go out there many times when they shouldn't have asked him to go out there. He still never complained about it.

This is the funniest story i've seen on T&R all year. Please sign with Milwaukee so the Cardinals will be assured of a few more wins next season.

Wow what a saint. He didn't complain when the organization asked him to live up to his contract. Give the guy a medal, or just tens of millions of dollars (like the Cardinals did) for not complaining.

I didn't say he was a saint. I think he was a stand up guy. He went out there when he couldn't even lift his arm high enough to throw. The team signed him knowing his shoulder was badly damaged. No one put a gun to their head. I had no idea why they kept sending him out there when he obviously wasn't physically capable.

I started getting a bit upset they were giving away games by sending him out after he'd been lit up over and over in the minors.

I agree with you CF2. I think Mulder was a standup guy in STL, and I think no one felt worse than he did that he was unable to contribute his last 3 years there.

The toughest part to me about hearing Mulder's name is knowing we gave up Danny Haren to get him to St Louis.

baseball is a bottom line business, you don't win by being a stand up guy. He probably felt bad because he knew he was playing his way out of another big contract.

I don't disagree that it is a bottom line business, but that doesn't mean that players don't want to do well for more reasons than their own bank accounts.
