08:08 AM ET 10.25 | This is what Golden State Warrior Stephen Jackson told the Globe this past week: "I'll be the first to admit it. I said a lot of things this summer about not wanting to be here. But this team is a lot better than I thought we would be. I have always been a man and admitted when I was wrong. This team is a lot better than I thought we could be, and I hope we continue to grow and be ready for opening night."

Jackson to Spurs for Finley and Jefferson. Salaries match, and this would be win-win for both teams. Spurs get an all-round player who is very versatile, someone who would fit in well with Parker and Ginobli. Warriors get a shooter in Jefferson and an experienced player in Finley.

Damage control, a little late.

The Spurs get raped in that deal, Jefferson is younger and on a cheaper contract in addition to being a better fit. He's not going to complain, Jackson on the other hand...

Didn't Jefferson complain about being in Milwaukee? I can see him doing the same in San Antonio. Jefferson is too one-dimensional---he is really just a spot-up shooter. Jackson can do everything, he scores, rebounds, defends, sets up plays for others---the complete package. A very under-rated player. I have watched Golden State play a lot, and he is one of the most under-rated Small Forwards in the game. He is definitely in the top-5.

Melo, Artest, Caron, Deng, Durant, Granger, J.Howard, Lebron, Jefferson, Pierce, Prince, Hedo and G. Wallace. Top 5 really?

You forgot he already helped the Spurs win a championship yet they let him go? There's a reason for it and part of what Popovich forsaw is what we saw in Indiana and what we're seeing in Golden State right now.

What else does Jack need to do to show us he's more screwed up that Artest is?

Insane. Salaries don't match. Jefferson gets $15mil /yr, Finley $2.5mil. Jackson is paid $7.5mil. And there's a reason Jefferson gets paid more. He's better, and Jackson is a headcase.

Spurs went after Jefferson early in the post-season. Pop knew he wanted him from his time coaching Jefferson on the Olympic team. Jefferson, in addition to his stats, is a great team player.

And why give up Finley at all? A vet with 13 years experience and a good player. A steal for $2.5 million. The guy went 5/5 from 3pt range in one of the last pre-season games.

From the article above you can tell. Jackson realizes there is no interest from any of the top tier teams, and to overpriced/selfish for any of the rest. Like he said, he is going to man up, admit his mistake and stick with the Warriors, which really looks like his only option.

Translation: I've got a contract that won't allow a trade that works for both parties involved. I'm probably going to be here awhile.

Or...

Translation: Dang - no one wants me because I am a petulant moron. Guess I had better shut up.

Ok Capt. Jack aint going anywhere.
Good to know but this has been going on for weeks.
Enough of this guy.
The three best players in the leauge dont be in the T & R everyday.
But to have this almost allstar in it every single day is getting a bit stupid.
I have nothing against Jack but he needs to just shut up and play ball.
That contract of his is one that nobody wants to take on period.

Another Translation: "The ongoing adventures of myself in the role of Captain Jackass has made me the laughingstock of the NBA...Even my own family thinks I'm an village idiot...Until the Warriors strongarm some moronic GM (Steve Kerr, anyone?) into taking me, I'll be here for a few more episodes..."
