Casey Mears could just as easily lose his RCR No. 7 ride to Paul Menard, who can bring a full sponsorship. Doug Randolph, coincidentally, was Menard's crew chief at Dale Earnhardt Inc.

They should have put this article here:

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) -- ESPN broadcaster Bob Griese apologized twice Saturday for a remark he made about NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya while announcing the Minnesota-Ohio State game.

During the broadcast, ESPN ran a graphic listing the top five drivers in NASCAR's Chase for the championship points race. Fellow analyst Chris Spielman asked where was Montoya, who is Colombian. Griese replied that he was "out having a taco."

This isn't hard, Mears drives the 07, Gordon the 7. Second time Fannation has messed that up.

On a lighter note, Mears sucks, Menard sucks but brings sponsorship. I'd rather have Menard and be able to keep running the team than Mears and be bankrupt.

Better off parking the car.

Show him the money.. Daddy!!

Am I the only one that saw a car in harms way, on the track, setting still on the last lap?
No Caution in site.

Another stellar performance by Jr.

NASCAR did their da.mn.est to give Johnson that win. He was speeding in the pits on more than one occasion and didn't get penalized. Near the end of the race when Hamlin took a pretty good lead ... well, what do you know? A caution for debris -- allowing Johnson to get right back alongside Hamlin for the restart.

What the he.ll, NASCAR? Can you be any more blatant about favoring Johnson? Yeah, yeah. I know. They're trying to create that "dynasty", hoping it will garner attention and popularity for the sport. Here's a newsflash -- IT AIN'T WORKING! Jimmie Johnson winning the majority of the chase races and the title year after year is downright boring!

Looks like Daddy opened his wallet again. Menard Jr is at the height of his incompetence in a Cup Car!

October 26, 2009  10:16 AM ET

If they're going to put Menard in that car they should just go back to 3 teams and maybe have a shot at making the chase again next year.

yeah.. cut and pasters at T&R cant understand the 07 and 7 differences..

Then again, if Paul Menard DID in fact bump Robby in the #7 (which wont happen unless he steps out like Mikey in the #55, obviously) at least one of Robby's perpetual problems would be resolved (sponsorship, he only gets partial now from John Menard) and, when you look at the standings, that #98 is ahead of the #7 by a couple positions.

Sad but true, Paul Menard ahead of Robby Gordon. Robby can drive the wheels off of about anything, but unfortunately, usually does.

Casey Needs To Go To The IRL!

October 27, 2009  11:51 AM ET

The taco comment was pretty funny

October 27, 2009  12:45 PM ET

Casey Sucks, and Menard isn't much better, but he brings Daddy's money to whichever team he goes to. If I HAD to have a team that didn't perform, I would much rather it be a team with full sponsorship that isn't going to pull it if the driver sucks...

Yeah, I like the taco comment, too. Seems that Montoya has been whining a lot lately. I guess open wheeler guys aren't used to tradin' paint, and "rubbin' is racin'."

October 27, 2009  03:08 PM ET

Mears isn't that bad. He can run anywhere from 10-20th on any give day, but Menard is guaranteed to run about 30th or worse.

I think Mears would be competitive if he had a crew chief for at least a year. Take a look at his finished the last couple months. Then his crew chief gets reassigned.
