Just as well....Hamels is very hittable.

October 26, 2009  08:21 AM ET

I hope he starts hamels in game 2!

October 26, 2009  08:48 AM ET

I thought Pedro was pitching the first game!

October 26, 2009  08:52 AM ET

Okay, went and reread the thread and it says he'll get a start ... not pitch the first game. Boy, pitching in NY? That will be something to see!

October 26, 2009  08:58 AM ET

I am looking forward to the World Series with two powerful teams going at it. I give the offensive edge to the Phillies and I pick them to win it in 6 games. Top to bottom, they are just a tad better than the Yanks who I think looked vulnerable in the ALCS and if not for the numerous mental gaffs by the Angels, may have even lost the series.

Here we go Phillies here we go CLAP CLAP.

I would start Pedro in game 2. He is a big game guy!

He would probably LOVE to pitch in NY though ...

October 26, 2009  10:01 AM ET

I would start Peetie. Hamels is too predictable in his pitches. I don't know why he does not throw his curveball! He has essentially become a two pitch starter.........Every time he shakes off a sign, he gives up a dinger.

October 26, 2009  10:14 AM ET

"The Yankees are my daddies..."yep, as a Yankee fan I'd love to see Pedro on the mound in NY!

October 26, 2009  11:06 AM ET

Let's Go Yankees!

Yo Pedro! "Whose your Daddy!"

you would lose game 2 if you did that...

rotation should be... Lee, Happ/Blanton, Pedro, Hamels... only because i know they wont throw queen cole into the pen

wasnt there a quote out there by Pedro along the lines of.... 'the Yankees are my daddy'?

Remember last year when the Brew Crew was carried into the post season by one CC Sabathia, and the Phillies drove him out of the first game he threw against them in what... four innings?

this series will be interesting.

our bull pen is doing just fine, everyone needs to stop doubting them, they got us tihs far right? charlie knows what hes doing and he knows his players better than any of us so let him do what he wants to do. cole is an amazing pitcher, hes struggling a bit right now but he will get back into the swing of things, no big deal.

put down the Cole Hamels Koolaide.... seriously.

he is, AT BEST, a #3/#4 starter in the Phil's rotation. last year's MVP ways were... well, he was a beast. but the 2-month amazing spell he went through gave him too big of a head, and we'll probably NEVER see him pitch nearly as good again.

he's a pre-madona little prick, who is bound to get HAMMERED by the Yankees, who, unlike the Dodgers and Rockies, will have men on when Cole gives up his guarenteed 2-3 shots a game

October 26, 2009  12:42 PM ET

Wow, how quickly Hamels went from Saviour to Flop. I didn't realize how fickle some Phillies fans really are. Hamels is having a rough year, PERIOD. He'll be back to his regular form before you know it. Right now he IS pitching like a 3 or 4 starter, but when he gets his act together he'll be back to the old Hamels we expect. Anyone who thinks he is washed up is a chump. Next year when he collects his Cy Young, i'll think of your post and laugh.

October 26, 2009  12:48 PM ET

Yep, I agree. This has just been a down year for Hamels. He's young and will bounce back and has a chance to make a statement in the WS.

you are a joke. you are honestly the worst philly fan i have ever seen. hop off the ban wagon, **** hole, why dont you just go buy a jeter jersey right now? clearly you know nothing about baseball, so maybe you should turn on espn every once in a while, cole hamels is pretty effing dom. everyone goes through their struggles like lets be serious...he was 2008 world series MVP how can you say hes a pre-madona? he does his job and thats the end of it, he never has anything to say excpet positive about his team. your an idiot, like honestly im shocked to see that more people arent agreeing with me. hes not a Met and he doesnt bash other players. pre-madona? ha...your a joke, front runner.

CC also pitched 4 starts in a row on 3 days rest. He's rested, has a much better defense behind him and a much better lineup to give him some runs.
Phillies starters except for Lee just can't match up. The bullpens aren't even close. The Phils better bring their hitting shoes because it's the only chance they have.

October 26, 2009  02:07 PM ET

They're still playing baseball? I thought those were just horrible reruns of Tim McCarver and Chip Carey!

It'll be interesting to see if CC still has last years beat down by the hands of the Phils in his mind. My guess is soon as he gives up a hit or two flash backs will creep into his head and that will be the end of it. Lucky for CC he won't have to pitch to Lee.
