Mangini sticking with Anderson

07:06 AM ET 10.27 | The ''Brady'' chants started in the second quarter, just after Browns rookie receiver Brian Robiskie turned inside and quarterback Derek Anderson threw outside, much to the delight of Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson, who intercepted the pass. But Browns coach Eric Mangini refused to yank Anderson in the 31-3 loss Sunday to the Packers, and the disappointed crowd in Cleveland Browns Stadium gave up the Brady Quinn quest and went home early. As dismal as Anderson's numbers were for the third consecutive week, Mangini said Monday that he was sticking with Anderson for the game Sunday against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

The ''Brady'' chants started in the second quarter...

Maybe they were chanting for Tom Brady so they could see a real quarterback?

I'm sure the bears are happy. Jay can be happy he won't be the worst QB on the field next week.

Where did all these really bad teams come from, anyway? Did they play in the NFL last year? In 2008, all we had was the Lions to laugh at. Now, the Lions lay down with the Lambs, and the Browns, and the Raiders, and the Bucs and the Titans, and the Chiefs.

These teams make the Redskins look like a functional organization.

Mornin', Otis.

I only watched the first half last night, but based on that, I wouldn't let Campbell carry my groceries out to the car.

I watched the first half - that was brutal. The guy seems determined not to attack down field. And there was an excellent replay showing him looking for an escape route rather than looking down field for a receiver when he still had plenty of protection.

He should be benched immediately. He will not be with the Redskins next year anyway, so what is the point of continuing to throw him out there? Get Collins in and start trying to regain a shred of confidence in the QB position.

Or Greg, hell maybe even Marsha

Anderson or Quinn? Damned if you do. Damned if you don't.

October 27, 2009  08:15 AM ET

the "man-genius" isn't too bright. when your starting QB struggles to throw for at least 100 yds your in trouble. Anderson has a worse QB rating than Jamarcus Russell. that's really sad. Brady Quinn is alot better than Anderson. Mangini is an idiot, the browns suck.....again

His stubborness is as wide as his girth, Clev made a Mistake in hiring him. He is at best an assistant coach

Holy cow! Now THAT is an accomplishment.

So many teams possibly making QB adjustments

Delhomme = horrible year so far, may not start due to poor performance
Russel = pulled this past game for being horrible
Collins = lots of talk about starting Young due to an winless season
San Fran = Smith starting over Hill now

I'd say Anderson is worse than probably all of these, yet keeps his starting job. Sorry, but this is now about Brady's contract - boils down to money at this point. Mangini is going to save Lerner a bunch of cash by tanking the team with a subpar QB that has no business at this point in starting for an NFL team. You can blame the OL, the DEF in general, lack of a solid running game, whatever... Brady's contract is keeping him out of the starting line up more than his inability considering DA is not much, if at all, better for the team. I can not even fathom the morale on the Browns team right now.

But only when he doesn't get any control remember he was the def coordinator at NE which means he probably sat on the bench and did what he was told.

The Browns should have kept Graham Harrell when they gave him a try out. Maybe they can get him released from his CFL contract.

Yea great... stick with him after you traded the only guy on the browns with a chance to get open... Your a lucky man Anderson...
