06:19 AM ET 10.28 | Veteran righthander Brett Myers, who pitched one ineffective inning in the division series and was excluded from the National League Championship Series roster, was added to the Phillies again yesterday. He replaced utilityman Miguel Cairo. Pitching coach Rich Dubee said that the team needed an extra pitcher because of the shortage of off days during the World Series, and that Myers looked much improved while throwing two simulated games and two bullpen sessions during the NLCS.

Hey Pedro!
Three little words for you!
I know you know them

"Whose your Daddy?"

It is ok! Everyone knows! "Whose your Daddy?"

That's right we are!

He threatened to punch Charlie Manuel's wife

Their pitching coach's name is Dubee? Hahahaha

October 28, 2009  08:41 AM ET

I like the move, with the DH in atleast 2 games possibly 4 you need less bench and Myers has world series experience. LETS GO PHILLIES

He is actually pretty good, was with the marlins when they won with beckett, burnett and dontrelle, I think he was also with another team that went deep in the playoffs before with very good young pitching. Name is kinda funny though

He must be good. Anyone that can take that garbage and win has to be

I thought they added him because the Yankees needed an extra BP pitcher. This guy has great stuff, if you're a .250 hitter or better for the other team.

What happen to Brett Myers, he was good a few years ago. Went to the bullpen then when he started starting again he totally sucked. I don't think he's Japanese so he should be better than having 1 or 2 strong seasons. Isn't that the fannation belief, that all japanese pitchers are only good for a few years, while american pitchers are studs. cough, cough ben sheets

Brett Myers was added to the Phillies roster so he can DH against C.C. Sabathia. (Reference: 2008 NLDS Game #2).

Sounds a lot like Hughes' four-seamer ... he better get that fixed or he won't be seeing much time, if any, on the mound in the World Series.

Girardi needs to give him and Joba more than one batter a game...

I will be talking all series, its going to be great, the best 2 teams in baseball fighting for the championship. Its been quite some time since the best 2 have made it to play each other. I respect the yanks team and like them actually, I just think the phillies match up well and can win the series asn I am sure you think the same about the yanks. Good luck Phillies in 6

I pay attention to the games, big deal Rollins hit a double off of Broxton. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once and a while, Rollins had a terrible year this year.

If he played as well as he talked he have Pujols type numbers
