07:56 AM ET 10.28 | No surprise: Michael Hitchcock is out as FC Dallas' general manager. The club will not fill the position and, instead, hire a technical director to assist Coach Schellas Hyndman. There had been rumblings since last winter that Hitchcock was going to be phased out.

I know there have been questions about Hyndman, but the FC Dallas turnaround this year began as Hitchcock was being phased out and Schellas got more say on personnel decisions. In many ways it was the classic power struggle. Hyndman always was going to win because of his long, close relationship with the Hunts.

You're correct. I didn't even notice that. Of course, since T&R can't get even players right...

All we are saying, is give Jeff Cunningham a chance.

but you cant look at a single game to judge....

he is the golden boot winner, one can argue that he deserves a call-up more so then any other US MLS forward....

I am full of disagreement today...

No...just because you are the MLS golden boot winner does not mean you deserve a call up to the national team. Yeah, Conor Casey sealed a World Cup berth for us with his brace in Honduras but that was one game. Look at all the other games he has been bashed for disappearing. Jeff Cunningham - the reason no call up is because of his attitude. It can't be his skill because he is a better striker then some on the national team. There are things we do not know and I bet his attitude and ego are probably a main reason for no call-ups.

Roy Lassiter did pretty well in MLS scoring goals...didn't equated to national team success.

That's not Hitchcock or Hyndman. That picture is John Ellinger.

Cunningham's attitude in MLS is not a factor as far as what it'll be with the nats...

Bob would only have them for a handful of days at most, at which point he ships them back to their clubs....

I do not give Casey a free pass to WC b/c of his honduras game... he has to prove consistency to claim that ticket....

Cunningham has had a STELLAR season with FCD despite it not being that grand (until the home stretch).... He DESERVES a call up... whether that means he gets his shot on the field or if Bob keeps him on the bench, it doesnt take away that he's worked hard all season to get here.... It wont hurt to call him up for a friendly and see what he can do.... perhaps he has no business on the Int'l field, but perhaps we find a diamond in the rough half a year out of WC that could make a huge difference since our original speedster (davies) is out

He looks quite a bit like Hitchcock at first glance.

I thought he was the biggest issue that Sounders had to contend with in that match. Either the defense was lights out on JC or he went anonymous at the worst possible time.

Not sure how anyone (with our depleted striker possibilities) would think that giving JC a chance would be a bad idea. He was the hottest striker in the MLS this year, Golden Boot winner, and he's one thing that none of our other strikers are now that Davies is out: FAST.

Do you really want to see the following list of strikers for the World Cup:

Altidore: medium slow
Ching: slow
Casey: slower
Kenny Cooper: slowest

Who's going to keep up with LD when he takes off on a counter-attacking dash upfield? Its Eddie Johnson or Cunningham---and at least Jeff is getting regular minutes and doing something EJ hasn't done since last season: score.

Just to be clear, I'm open to the idea of giving him a shot. We have no speed up top without Davies. Unless someone emerges out of the blue, BB needs to take a long, hard look at JC.

There simply aren't many good options. We haven't given Cunningham a sustained look in the past for many reasons besides a bad reputation. His first touch isn't great; he doesn't hold the ball well under pressure; etc. But he does two things really, really well--run fast and score. Those are two things no other striker option does enough of right now. By that I mean do both, not one or the other. He may or may not be able to do that on the international level, but we're idiots if we don't find out given the current situation.

Wow, my computer went down after that last post. I just barely got it working again. Triple post!! That's pretty impressive stuff.

Back on point (well, sort of), I sort of wonder if Jeff's "attitude problems" are complete BS. He seems like a pleasant enough guy. Perhaps a little prima-donna, but aren't all strikers? Some of the world-cup tune-ups would be a great opportunity to give Jeff the call up. Even if he doesn't make the WC squad, it gives your defenders a chance to practice against someone who really has that hunger for the goal.
