Richard Petty Motorsports is finalizing elements of its 2010 program, beginning this weekend when Elliott Sadler will race a Ford at Talladega Superspeedway. Behind the scenes, the team is also shoring up its lineup. Team officials familiar with RPM's personnel moves told The Associated Press on Wednesday that sponsor Best Buy will move from Sadler's car next season to Petty's famed No. 43 with AJ Allmendinger as the driver. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because the changes have yet to be announced. Stanley will become the sole primary sponsor for Sadler. Both Best Buy and Stanley had shared Sadler's car this season.

so both full-time sponsors? any petty blue w/best buy? something better than that god awful stanley scheme sadler had this year?

October 29, 2009  08:39 AM ET

SO is this all step one in showing Sadler the door?

October 29, 2009  09:03 AM ET

It must be the sponsor wanting to keep Sadler. It can't be or his performance these last few years.

October 29, 2009  09:14 AM ET

Best Buy and Stanley must be giving a bit less then other sponsors which spells out shoestring budget next season.

October 29, 2009  09:22 AM ET

RPM is going to be down to one car and driver and sponsor. Ya'll can likely figure it out

October 29, 2009  01:10 PM ET

When Sadler first started driving I really thought he was going to be an up and coming driver. He seems to have charactor and yet have a little fire in him.. But, yet again another young driver did not succeed in Nascar...

I like to set and try to understand what he is saying as a commentator, likable guy LOL.

There are so many drivers out there that would be in contention if had only the chance to be in great equipment.

Having said that, Why is JR. not doing so well?

October 29, 2009  01:21 PM ET

Guess I just opened the door to JR haters, Bring it on, you are a dumb as you speak.

October 29, 2009  01:35 PM ET

My opinion on Jr. He has had EVERYTHING go wrong for him that could possible happen. He will be running well and he misses the pits, a lug nut drops off, he blows a tire, or is involved in a wreck.. I am hoping all thsi

October 29, 2009  01:37 PM ET

Oops ----this CRAP gets out of his system this year and we Jr. fans have somthing to look forward to next year.. If not next yer then I will eat crow and admit that he is not as good as I had hoped he would be. i KNEW he would NEVER be the driver his Dad was BUT I had hoped that he would be a top 15 driver!! We will see------------

If the law is the limit of .08, and he blew .08, he was at the limit and therefore should not have been arrested IMO. Its totally different than someone blowing a .23 or something crazy like that..

What part of " not driving after drinking" don't you understand?
I have 2 teenagers, if caught, they will be without car/truck, PERIOD.
Seen too many people die for drinking behind the wheel.
