Will Red Bulls hire Williams?

Of all the decisions to be made on head coaching positions in Major League Soccer this off-season, perhaps none is being watched more carefully than the New York Red Bulls' decision on whether to keep Richie Williams as head coach. Hiring Williams would seem like a no-brainer for a club that watched him take a hopeless team and transform it into a respectable one that posted more points in eight matches (11) than it posted in its first 22 (10). Part of the reason the Red Bulls haven't hired Williams yet is because the person who will serve as immediate supervisor to the head coach has yet to be hired. he only thing that seems clear at this point is that if the Red Bulls don't hire Williams, there are several teams who will come calling for one of the most respected assistants in the league.

11 points in eight matches in the parity rich MLS isn't asking too much...even for the laughing stock NJRB

he did do a great job of turning the team around... took a team that was going down in history as the league's worst EVER and saved it from such ridicule....

nearly double Redbulls points with the 11... did what JCO did, but took him only a 1/3 of the season :D

I suspect they will try to draw more of a name--not sure who that would be. But I'm also not sure they can find someone better. From what I can tell, in his approach he reminds me of Kreis. He was that way as a player also.

Honestly...the NYRB rumors are getting to Goldenballs level status.

Enough already...they were the worst club in MLS history...this is beyond kicking a dead horse.

PS Oter, just wondered, what is the number 9 for in your avatar?

Your girlfriends age?

The number of lives your cat has?

The number of reasons you have for liking the Fire?

The number of dolls in your Barbie collection?

The average IQ of the FFF callers?

The number of porns you have both starred in and directed?

Because the sum of the digits which form its multiples are themselves always a multiple of nine; e.g., 2 x 9 = 18 (and 1+8=9); 3 x 9 = 27 (and 2+7=9); 4 x 9 = 36 (and 3+6=9); 5 x 9 = 45 (and 4+5=9), etc., etc.; and so with the larger numbers: 52843 x 9 = 475587 (and 4+7+5+5+8+7=36, and 3+6=9)?

Because it is a factor of 666, which is 9 times 74?

The number of coaches the Red Bulls will go through in the next 3 Seasons?

oops...*NJRB...

i gotta disagree... NJRB woefully underperformed during the start of the season. there is no reason ANY team should have only 10pts after 2/3 of the season in the MLS.

So, you're saying the incoming 19 players need to all be Americans? Is that what you're saying?

bro, he makes a good point, mate. plus Blue Moon tastes great, dude.

Wait until you see this: one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a football pitch, from the Brazilian second division where these clowns get filmed tossing a game on purpose. It is so painfully obvious that the goalkeeper and defenders should be banned a lifetime just for turning in such a poor acting job.

It looks like a kiddie game, but I assure you it's not as the World Press has picked up on the story of this game ... known as the "9 goals in 9 minutes" game for the worst case of matching fixing ever caught on tape. It's hysterical to watch.

the facts remain they had a terrible record for 2/3rds a season... underperformed?? i call it terrible coaching... JCO never played the same formation and the same players twice...

Yes most American or at least good Latin American Players. Most productive foreign players have been Latin AMERICANS ....Schelotto, Valderrama, Etcheverry, Milfuegos, Armas, now you have new blood in Montero, the two defenders from L.A., the kid from Chivas USA...

Remember that big forward from Tampa Mammadou a BIG BUST bro.

So yes that's what I am saying.....

Thank you - you mate, have a very discriminating taste...Blue Moons for everyone!

Drinking anything other than Blue Moons would be unvicilized!

Back to the post in hand: I just hope Papa Noel grant me my wish to ahve a very competitive team to represent such a wonderful Stadium, mate.
