Toronto Argonauts co-owners Howard Sokolowski and David Cynamon are considering making a bid for the Phoenix Coyotes and plan to meet city officials next week. Sokolowski and Cynamon had been linked to Ice Edge Holdings, a group of eight Canadian and U.S. businessmen who have made a pitch for the club. But their involvement with Ice Edge ended several weeks ago, according to sources familiar with the bidding.

Given the "success" of both teams, this makes sense to me!

October 30, 2009  07:32 AM ET

Luuu-cy, where's dat quarter of a beeellion dollars dat I had stuffed in my sock drawer?

October 30, 2009  08:27 AM ET

wake me when there's an ACTUAL new owner

October 30, 2009  08:39 AM ET

Wake me when there's a disbursement draft.

I don't think it's a good thing that they're trying to sell the Argos in order to join the Ice Edge group.

October 30, 2009  09:47 AM ET

This will make agros happy maybe.

October 30, 2009  10:32 AM ET

Why would anyone want to own 2 teams that have no fans in the seats?

TSN has said these two guys have left Ice Edge and have formed another group of 12. I'm sure Bettman will be happy to sit down with them all and that will happen when 8 of the investors are released from jail.

October 30, 2009  11:08 AM ET

If their acquisition of the Yotes turns out to be as succesful as the Argos, then I'm all for it! Soon there will be one less team to worry about in the NHL, which is fine with me! How do you spell contraction?

October 30, 2009  11:16 AM ET

Why would anyone want to buy something that is on pace to lose $80 mil. These 2 don't have a clue as to what they want to do, or are capable of doing. If they are losing money on a football team why not try losing some on a hockey team.

October 30, 2009  01:30 PM ET

These owners are idiots, they will fit perfectly in the NHL.

I don't care what group they're with, if you have sell your CFL team to have enough money to join an NHL ownership group it kind of reminds me of some guy named 'Boots'

October 30, 2009  03:30 PM ET

They should move the team to Hamilton.

October 30, 2009  04:43 PM ET

WE NEED THE STUKAS BROTHERS BACK!!! DIG THEM UP FROM BYRNELL MANOR IN FENELON FALLS, EH?

I think the NHL is more likely to move the team rather than contract it. They still want to try to make Phoenix a success, despite the proof to the contrary. If they do move, Kansas City or Quebec City are more likely places.
