If Carlos Tevez is to fully settle into life in England then he should start having lessons in the language, according to Manchester City team mate Pablo Zabaleta.

I didn't realize Tevez played for Manchester United still. If you have nothing useful to report T&R just don't report it. This is in the top 10 most worthless articles I have ever seen.

Oter, what was up with the trolls yesterday? Must be because it's getting colder outside and all the insects, pests and rodents are seeking shelter indoors.

What the heck? He must be retarded to not have learned by now. And I mean that. He must be slow to go to City over Liverpool anyway.

the breeze is blowing even colder under their bridges... they came to warm up by our fires... best for everyone to simply annoy them back until their bridges look that much warmer then our fires

Or just ignore them. The most annoying thing you can do to a smart-arse looking to get people riled up is ignore them.

Totally, if Tevez was a Yank, we would hear the stories of the typical arrogant American unwilling to embrace new cultures.

love being stereotyped and watching others do the same if not worse and people shrug it off b/c they are foreign

Spot on. All it takes is Jozy Altidore tweeting how he misses ranch dressing for his fries and hates HP. He'd be raked over the coals for such a crime by the press.

I'll be honest too, I have a bias against short forwards ;) They irritate me, and I loved knocking them are the top of the box as a holding midfield.

Or just simply have a laugh, at least that's what I do! But great points regardless! Anyone watching Birmingham vs. Man City.. Good pace in the game so far both teams are getting good chances to score.

yes and both GKs making heroic saves. not a bad match at all.

November 2, 2009  01:50 PM ET

call me radical, but i think if you're going to another country to make a lot of money playing for one of their teams, you should make an effort to learn the language from day one. this isn't about what is right or pride - you have to communicate with your fellow players.

i'm an american. if i was picked up by schalke 04 in the bundesliga, i'd start taking german immediately. respect the country that pays you.

November 2, 2009  05:20 PM ET

It's a joke, really. He's been in England for a while now and still can't speak the language. I'm pretty sure that's one of the only reasons him, Park Ji-Sung, and Evra were best mates because they all could speak spanish.

I coached 2 Russian teenagers last year in high school that were brought over here 2 years ago through adoption by an american family and they are so fluent in english now that if you had never met them, you'd think they were American. No accent whatsoever. Point is, Tevez has no excuse.

November 3, 2009  07:03 AM ET

I guess it doesn't help when Torres has become quite fluent in Spanish from what I understand.

Tevez must think he is playing in MLS.

November 5, 2009  05:19 PM ET

Torres is spanish...?

November 5, 2009  09:40 PM ET

torres is argentinian, and argentina is a spanish-speaking country...

November 5, 2009  10:15 PM ET

sorry, tevez, not torres
